Suburban Glasgow, Phase 5 part 1

Post by tluamiani1 »

Evening all,

Just a quick note to say that I have released the latest version of Suburban Glasgow now, which adds the Neilston and Balloch branches to the existing route.

Note that this is only available to people who install the optional detail pack. The Workshop-only version is still at Phase 4.

So something like:

1) Subscribe to the Workshop route again. This is still necessary as it contains the upgraded trackwork.
2) Wait until it pulls the latest version. The previous detail pack will be overwritten and you'll go back to having the generic version. Best to check this is actually the case before doing step 3!
3) Unsubscribe to the Workshop route, install the latest Detail Pack and then run the reskins script again.

I'll be making a full Workshop version at the end of Phase 5 part 2, for those that don't want to install the detail pack.

More info on my website...

Cheers!
Iain

This is excellent news. I must say that the Suburban Glasgow route is one of my absolute favorites and I can now understand how much work goes into making a suburban route. I for one am certainly looking forward to having a go with this.

I agree this is an excellent Christmas present for us, this is a really impressive high quality network. I actually maintain two versions, the old WCML-N joined route around Glasgow and the latest detail pack which I will now update. Thanks for all your hard work Iain!

I didn't realise this could be joined with WCML-N! It's just got a whole lot better!

That was an option with an earlier version (phase 3 I recall) so I cloned that version so I can also enjoy the latest extension, albeit without the WCML-N connection.

Ahhh yes, the combined route eventually turned out to be too big for Railworks so I stopped it! The current version does still have a lot of WCMLNorth in it though (ie, everything north of Carstairs), which is the reason it needs a Workshop download. :)

Ah right Ok. Sounds like the best compromise.
