The S-Bahn Rhein-Main commuter railway is made up of nine local lines that traverse Frankfurt. This simulation covers two of the most important ones connecting the Taunus with Frankfurt - the S5 and S6. The system belongs to the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV) and is operated by DB Regio AG, a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn AG. Both routes are operated with BR423 Multiple Units. The two lines cover 29 stations in total, including the five big underground stations in the heart of Frankfurt where commuters can connect to several inner-city services like trams and underground lines. The line opened in 1978 and was soon extended beyond the river Main to Frankfurt Süd.

The S6 route travels on the Main-Weser-Bahn. Regional, long-distance, and freight services also use these tracks. The route also includes Frankfurt Main Station (Hauptbahnhof or HBF) as well as the branch line to Frankfurt Süd.

The S6 starts in Friedberg and travels along the Main-Weser-Bahn. The S5 begins in Friedrichsdorf and follows the route down the hills towards Frankfurt.

The Railworks Austria BR423 in RMV livery is included and has changeable destination displays and operating SIFA and PZB 90 safety systems.

I have not bought a route in Just Trains for a long time, and as long as they continue with this trend I intend to stay the same, because this is a joke. Apart from the fact that the routes are more expensive than normal, they do not usually include rolling stock and require other payware stock/routes.

The route is not produced by JT, they are only the publishers. You should also take a look at the custom assets provided with the route, and the train included is EL quality, take a look at the price of the standalone one (Euro 20.23 or thereabouts) and you will see what a bargain this route actually is. I am pretty sure that Alterr had a hand in the creation of this route.

At the top of the map in the middle is Friedrichsdorf on the right is Friedberg

As Holz said S5 starts at Friedrichsdorf and is the Brown Line running thru Bad Homburg to the junction near Frankfurt Rodelheim where S3 & S4 join.
S6 starts at Friedberg and is the Orange line on the map running thru Bad Vibel joining the S3/4/5 lines near Frankfurt West.

Most of the S-Bahn services run underground thru the city to Frankfurt Sud.
There are also Regional Express services running over the line from Friedberg to Frankfurt Hbf

Glad I held off on the 423 when released, the route is nicely screwed together but I think it could do with HD'ing, it's weird not having any road traffic on a busy autobahn too. the 420 will be at home with this route.

There is an issue with the JT installer causing some errors, floating bushes etc, according to the route author, a fix is being sought.

... Just bought the route from JT a couple of days ago, kind of wish now I'd waited for a Steam release for the convenience...

The route is really nice, very well done. A bit of a slideshow around Frankfurt Hbf but really, with my computer that's only to be expected at such a big station....

Putting a positive spin on it, you supported the route author who will see far more of your money than he ever would if you bought it on steam by the time DTG and Valve have taken their cut. It is therefore more likely that part two will now come along together with the other parts being planned.

Selling the route thru Steam will give it a wider audience and with the likelihood of Workshop Scenarios.
There are a good number of enthusiasts who only buy from DTG/Steam.

So do you sit on the back shelf and just sell you route thru one outlet, like Just Trains or Aerosoft, as the number of sales will diminish over time
Or do you release thru Steam and increase the exposure of your creation which might inspire the an extension or a new product.

Most sell direct until the sales peter out, then release on steam after some time when only residual sales are left. Also noticeable is that companies like 3dzug are now selling through JT, TAD and Versystem as well as their own shop. Steam may be a wider audience, but as some like DT & at least one other I can't name have found, the rewards are too meager unless it is a massive seller. If steam were the only option, more than a few third party creators would have given up outside of the UK/USA area.
