Looks wonderful. Looking forward to seeing the route. How will you make it available? I travelled that line many times in the mid 90s bashing tractors....oh wonderful days. I have some footage of a class 40 at Rhyl in the 1970s that I always remember fondly. I live in the US now but love driving down lines that I remember.

It's a pity there is no ferry you can put in Holyhead Harbour,unless you can reskin the derelict vessel,as that looks like the ferry that used go from Holyhead to Dublin.

Funny you should say that Mike, Nick and I were discussing the reskinning of the "fun ship" asset only the other day to place at the end of Llandudno Pier, but we found a beautiful Paddle Steamer which looks good. The derelict ferry is the Duke Of Lancaster which did indeed ply the Irish Sea in it's day.......really sad to see the state that it is in now - if we do ever get to Holyhead then it would be correct for the harbour.

Yes that is good model,but only suitable for going from Portsmouth to Ryde,definitely not the Irish Sea,during the 1950's one of the Stranrar- Larne Ferries actually sank in the Irish Sea It was the MV Princess Victoria built 1947,133 people died and 44 rescued in the disaster.

There was still a container freight terminal at Holyhead in the time you're modelling I believe.



Maybe the odd container carrier ship wouldn't go amiss either to populate the harbour area.

A bit premature! At the moment, we are only regressing the Llandudno to Crewe route. We will wait until DTG publish the extension to Holyhead to regress that part (no point duplicating work). Then we can look at container facilities

Thanks xguerra - do you by any chance have a date for that photo? Nick and I were discussing recently whether or not the platform signs were bi-lingual in the early 80s.......I thought not ( from memory ) but the photo clearly shows bi-lingual signs. As Nick says, we are currently only regressing the portion of the route already provided by DTG, we will decide on any extension at a later date.

Your back dated route will be the encouragement to buy the Train Sim 2018. Nothing in the base pack for the lover of steam and BR blue. Looking forward to the backdate, whens the next steam sale? Christmas is coming!!!

I seem to recall something to that effect (whether intentional or not). They did it with South Wales Coastal, so it would make (financial) sense for them to do it for the North version.
