Eric's Recent Thames - Mersey (Steam) Activities

Post by slipperman12 »

Hi Eric,
The Merseyside Express, The Ulster Express and The Midlander
Thanks for these activities :)
Although the first two are longer than I usually like to run, all three are up to your usual standard with plenty of traffic! It's a pity that the route doesn't permit travel much beyond Rugby on the Birmingham line. I should just mention that the stock lists for all three activities are missing two required downloads :

The following is not intended as any kind of criticism, but as suggestions for future activities.
From my train-spotting days in the 1950s, freight, and local passenger, trains were sometimes seen with the loco running tender/bunker first. Also seen quite regularly were light engines (often 3F or 4F), scurrying down the line on some urgent mission!!
Apologies if such traffic trains are included in these activities, but I didn't notice them!

Cheers,
Ged

Hi Ged

Many thanks for your comments - I really do appreciate feedback, good or bad! Apologies for once again omitting necessary downloads - as I've said before, I get tired easily these days and my concentration sometimes wanders. Sorry.

I agree wholeheartedly with your request to see more light engines "scurrying" along to do something important somewhere! I also remember lots of bunker first running.

So, as there is one more of those four evening departures from Euston to come - "The Lancastrian" or "Mancunian", as it became, I will endeavour to include some of these long lost workings within the timetable.

Next one up though will be "The Pines Express" on Clives SDJR - Bouremouth to Bath, followed by the same train next leg, same day, on his BTB - Bath to Birmingham New Street.

Cheers

Eric

Hi Eric,
Since July/August, you've uploaded a good selection of activities on various routes, but I've not had time to run many of them (yet!) due to being busy on other projects.

I think any feedback is good for the author of any upload; you can see the number of times a file has been downloaded, but don't really know how it's been received!! Mind you, I download files when they appear, but it'd probably be some weeks or even months before I get around to running them!

Anyway, please keep up the good work :)

Cheers,
Ged
