Thanks, Holz!

Another Tonka toy to play with... :D

If my ever-so-understanding bank manager says 'Yes'...

Kind regards,

John

Any idea what the crane animation is like: does it just raise and lower the boom, as in the photo, or does it swivel as well?

No idea at the moment, but Matthias generally likes to push himself. Depends whether such functionality is regarded as worthwhile. TS itself limited the possibilities with the last rail crane that was released, albeit a few years back now.

Thanks for your reply Holzroller. Is this rail crane a type which is used only in Germany or is it used more widely in Europe &/or worldwide?

Yes these cranes and similar are used across Europe, even in the UK, although these are a more compact version I believe. As well as the crane there will be support vehicles and carrier wagons.

Apparently the crane will be delivered as a wagon with no other functionality, this will be reflected in the price. Functionality will come at a later date, and may include independent rail movement.

It's a Mammoet, with DB logos on it, and lots of German writing and signs and all sorts, so, basically German, or, Austrian. However, it's your game, you can play with it anywhere you want, of course, although, obviously, with the European buffers and 3 link couplers it won't be much good on a North American route........ :o

Cheerz. Steve.

The real thing is made by Kirow, reskins are allowed and encouraged, the pack has apparently been designed to allow this They are used in many countries including Europe, Russia, the middle east and a compact uk version. there are many pics and videos online. IIRC the jib is made by Mammoet.

Example ( German Text ) http://redirect.viglink.com/?format=go& ... AgxuvACH3U

When you watch this video, you understand why giving full functionality in TS would be a real challenge

Released! However given the price an the fact the added scenarios are only for the Cologne Koblenz route I'm probably not interested...
