Route Editor problem - loft tracks not being displayed
Hi All,
While working on the South Lancs Route this afternoon I have encountered a bizarre issue - suddenly the tracks, which indicate the path which a loft will take as you lay it, disappeared which meant that I had to resort to guessing from the cursor location how the loft would look and then place it ( as usual ) by clicking mouse l/h button. The strange thing is that this only seems to affect a particular location on a tile, it does not affect the whole tile.....if I move a few hundred yards away then all is fine. I also tried different lofts with the same result. I persevered and managed to get the lofts laid but it is not as I would like it to be. As long as only this location is affected then no big problem but if it keeps happening elsewhere in the Route then the impact will be huge - has anybody else seen this and/or have any ideas?
thanks,
Andy

....additionally I have just noticed that the rotation markers are also invisible, the loft will rotate if I am lucky enough to guess where the rotation marker is and rotate - bamboozled.

I'm sure you know, and have therefore discounted, the fact that the loft 'track' (by which I guess you mean the tramlines) don't remain on the terrain surface and will bore into any slope.
Great work on your current project, by the way. Not my neck of the woods but I know the area so will be keen to have the route when you complete your magnum opus.

I had a similar problem when route building and it appears to be the result of too many lofts in close proximity to each other, at least in my case.

Thanks - and yes, this is not a case of the tramlines not remaining on the terrain surface.jetstream wrote:I'm sure you know, and have therefore discounted, the fact that the loft 'track' (by which I guess you mean the tramlines) don't remain on the terrain surface and will bore into any slope.

Re: Route Editor problem - loft tracks not being displayed
Thanks Phil - I do have mile after mile of hedge loft in the area, but Nick ( my co-conspirator on the South Lancs Route ) has just tested the same location and does not see the problem.......and I have just laid several miles of hedge loft starting just a hundred yards or so away, but as soon as I venture into this particular location the problem re-appears. As it does indeed seem to be limited to a small location I am much less worried than I was earlier this evening.......just one of those TS2017 quirks I suppose.eyore wrote:I had a similar problem when route building and it appears to be the result of too many lofts in close proximity to each other, at least in my case.

I had a similar thing with lofts a couple of years back. Only I was getting it all over my route. Only way I could fix it was a verify integrity of game files. If yours is only local then probably wont apply

Thanks - for the moment I will leave well alone, I was able to complete the scenery in that area and have moved on with all lofts working fine so fingers crossed that I have dodged a bullet.sean53 wrote:I had a similar thing with lofts a couple of years back. could try clicking on the little PC screen icon and make sure all the boxes are ticked... sometimes my routemarkers etc disappear and this is the remedy.. Never found out why it suddenly decides to untick then..

We had similar problems when a asset was under the terrain
If you miss place and asset and it form under the terrain the Train Simulator can crash or even have viewing issues
Just drop below the surface and look for a asset that is hidden
When testing GD1958 we had a Portal under the terrain with out a tunnel loft
The grief this caused until we realised that you could place the item but not re select or edit
The 2d Map is a good way to track loft assets as they appear with minimal assets in the way
Use the Control select and accept the new coordinates
When you go back to the 3d map you will be in the correct location
Just slide under the map and have a look
Great for finding miss place items and missing signal items end of track assets
Cheers Ausc
