MSTS GRAPHIC DISPLAY SIZE
Hi Chaps
I've re-installed a Winzip System Utilities Suite, which necessitated a System Restore procedure. After the restoration, my display has elongated across my monitor screen!!!
Could someone please remind me how to reset the screensize to normal?
Cheers

Re: MSTS GRAPHIC DISPLAY SIZE
Hi Eric,
It's a little difficult to advise you as you haven't posted which graphics card and which drivers you are using, but in general : go into your graphics card Control Panel entry (for NVIDIA) or start up the AMD settings program (it may be Catalyst) from the Start Menu, and set it to maintain (or retain) aspect ratio. Also, if the option is given, select the GPU, not the monitor, to control this.
Cheers,
Ged

Hi Ged
I've looked through the NVIDIA Control Panel and can find no adjustment/instruction etc, to instruct the graphics card to maintain aspect ratio.

Re: MSTS GRAPHIC DISPLAY SIZE
Eric, In Nvidia Control Panel choose the "Display" option and then "Adjust desktop size and position". In there choose "Aspect ratio" under "Select a scaling method". You should also have GPU set in there.

HOWEVER! ............................
The size of the text displays has now increased so that they fill the MSTS screen!!!!!
Track Monitor; Next Station Display and Switching Aid are now far too large and so is the Activity Briefing screen that appears on start-up.
Any ideas chaps? I can't find any reference to text sizing within MSTS Display settings.

Hi Eric,
Have you tried altering the screen resolution within the Options section when opening MSTS?

Stephen

Re: MSTS GRAPHIC DISPLAY SIZE
Hi Stephen
Yes. I've opened MSTS then straight into Options/Display and chosen several different screen resolutions - trial and error. The only one that gives me any text at all is the default setting - 640x480x16. But the text boxes are far too large.
Any of the other settings open the chosen activity, but then freeze the screen or send me straight back to Desktop!

Re: MSTS GRAPHIC DISPLAY SIZE
Hi Eric,
It depends on the resolution of your monitor.
My Samsung's is 1920 x 1080 and MSTS runs at 1280 x 1024 x 32
It may have nothing to do with your problems, but right-click the MSTS Desktop icon and select the Compatibility tab; the ONLY item which should be ticked is the "Run this program as administrator".
Cheers,
Ged
