London - Soton = Need help

Post by 25244 »

I can't get the London to Southampton Route to work for toffee. I installed the Zip, replaced athe Bad CRC file (which is inlcuded as a texture with UK Finescale 3.0), replaced the missing file, installed the Magnetic Platform gizmo and the universal tsection.dat. MSTS refuse to run with the route in place. Just crashes on startup at the 'Loading...' screen.

London - Southampton route problems!

Post by caledonian »

Hi everyone, likewise, I've had no luck installing the route, it comes up whenever trying to do a new activity "Failure to load track database".
Any ideas? Damn shame as I'm from Southampton and would really like to give this route a go!
Kind regards,
Andrew

You need ukfs3 (track shapes) installed to your Global\Shapes folder. The ukfs3 track textures (of your choice) installed to the routes \Textures & Textures\Snow folder and the latest tsection.dat file in your \Global folder (preferably) v00018 .

As IKB say, the 'failure to load track database' is related to an incorrect file, in that case it is a wrong 'tsection.dat', as he says you need the revised 'Standardised' version 0.0018 or later version avilable on uktrainsim.com.

As for my problem, I carried out EVERYTHING that you suggested IKB and it doesn't work. The only thing i can think of is I have an incorrect 'Standardised' tsection.dat file, are there any others on UKTS and can you maybe throw me the file IDs?

Where are these files available from?

Ive just downloaded 4 activities for this route and found that the route brings up an awful lot of error messages!!

P***ed me off a bit because i was eagre to drive this route as it looks good, as does the trains and activities!

As ThinLizzy said, everyone seems to be having troubles with this route.

Help :drinking:
