There's a comment on the Steam forums from DTG saying that it's likely that the existing Hymek sounds will be used for the loco in this pack. On a brighter note, they are looking into the prospects of adding the Class 14 Teddy Bear into the pack as an additional item and confirm that the Western will be new (i.e. different from the preserved loco features in D1015).

As a scenario writer this is all fantastic news, as the 1960s/1970s Hydraulic era is not currently well catered for.
There's a load of our scenarios which can be updated/rewritten to make really good use of this pack.
Be even better if they could just add a pre-TOPS Class 47 in there somewhere though

Thinking back to the original WR hydraulics pack by he who cannot be named, it did feature an version of the Class 22 that was driveable but with a very basic cab, without which WR-based scenarios don't look quite as authentic - shame that DTG are not planning on doing the same.

Fully agree. It would be another great addition.

Yes they have the model of the 22 so it would be a shame for it not to be included.

The names WR class 47's would be great too. They could add a green bubble car as well.

We shouldn't labour under the false misapprehension that Dovetail purchased EVERYTHING made by the former producer, that would have meant paying for a lot of overlap in rolling stock. Nobody except the parties involved knows for sure what they do and what they don't have, but I would be extremely surprised if they had paid a much higher amount for a blanket price on everything.

There's only one way to find out about the Class 22, so I just asked DTG on the Steam forum.

Well I accept that maybe I have made an assumption which could turn out to be wrong, I got the impression they had purchased the entire collection.

The 22 wouldn't be an overlap however, as far as I am aware there isn't and hasn't been another one.

Hopefully we will find out soon when they reply to ashgray's question.

It seems just like it was in the old model railways days the Western Region is the most popular,of all regions.

Seems to be the most popular. It is probably my favourite but I like variety and enjoy all the regions (I won't mention the lack of stock for the Weardale route again)!

Whilst I am ever the optimist, I really don't think there's a lot of resale value in the minutae of DMU variants which were identical to a Class 117 from the front (with roof boxes, and destination variations) but have different internal layouts. It would be a lot of work and I don't think it would make much business sense.

I agree re the DMUs Matt. Similarly (and unfortunately) there's probably only me here that loves the old D600 hydraulics - they'd be unlikely to sell in droves if DTG did make them. Plus there were only five, plus they weren't around for long. D601 spent almost twice as long awaiting the cutter's torch at Barry than it did in BR service!

The Class 22s on the other hand were a common sight on WR metals throughout the 60s and might be a popoular addition for scenarios.
