RW Tools with latest version 7.0.0022

Earlier today I install the full version plus the latest version of RW Tools in my desktop. Now this program show me that I have the version 7.0.22 for the program of RW_Tools. I am running on Windows 7 64X Ultimate desktop and I did right click the exe of RW Tools in " 'Always run this program as administrator' " Also checked three files to see if are included in RW Tools -- Serz.exe, stlport_vc10.5.2.dll, and zlibwapi.dll. They are included in the folder of RW Tools. I am not sure what is the error mean that I have tried to check " Check Routes or Scenarios " on Route Building Tools on top of this program. The error is Code 432 and look below:

I had an error when I installed this version. I had to reset the path to RailWorks then all was fine. Might be worth you trying that.

Can you tell me how to do this in step by step to make a path with " Railworks " in my program of RW_Tools 7.0.0022. The reason why I am asking you is that when I was in Options and see " TS2016 Path " Mine is TS2017 and don't see any of these word with TS2017 to make a path to RW_Tools.

Hi John,

TS2016 and TS2017 are the same thing virtually, just go to the Options menu and make sure the TS2016 Path points to your Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\RailWorks.exe file and all should be well. The path should then appear in the top border of the RW_Tools screen.

Hi Mike,

I got the path all lined up and see the name of the path on top border on RW_Tools. Mine is H:\Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\RailWorks.exe. But still the same problem and strongly believe that is not the problem of RW_Tools and more likely with my operating system of Windows 7 64X Ultimate.

Hi John,

You did not say if you got the same error if you tried to go to the menu item Scenario/Scenario Editor?

Also could you try going to the Edit Assets screen, does that screen open?

I very much doubt if it is a Windows 7 error, the program has always worked on Windows 7/8/10

Hi Mike,

That is very funny to see between Edit Assets Editor and Scenario/Scenario Editor on top of Menu. Can open " Edit Assets Editor " but not Scenario/Scenario Editor as I got the error 432 for this and have to hit the key 30 times then got another error. Look below:

Error: #9 Subscript Out of Range

Module frmShowRoutes

Procedure: List1_Click

That's another error after the error 432.

What do you think of this Mike?

Hi Mike,

Forgot to add at the bottom of my message. After trying to open Scenario/Scenario Editor and got the error message then hit the key twice before open up the Scenario Editor and the editor open up but got gray out boxes with the top inside -- Route Name on top left and Folder Name on top right and the second box with Scenario Name on top left and Folder Name and Size on top right in second box too.

Once you get an error message, hitting the key multiple times will put the program into an unknown condition, so any future errors can be discounted as by then the program has gone off into the wilderness

The fact that the same error 432 is appearing when trying to open both the Check Routes and the Scenario Editor areas would indicate that there is a problem somewhere in your Content\Routes folder, and the only thing I can suggest is that you rename your Routes folder to something like Routes-Old, make a new empty Routes folder, then move a few of the folders from Routes-Old into the Routes folder at a time, trying to run RW_Tools each time. If it runs OK, then you can move a few more back and so on until the error re-appears and you will then know where the problem lies.

Unless anyone has a better idea, that is the best I can come up with?

Hi Mike,

I followed your suggestion to see if that will work or not. Anyway hitting the key less than before like 25 times (Error 432) but only twice now then once with Error 9 before get into your program with Check Routes and Scenario Editor too. Almost there but still have to get this done right.

John, what happens if you have just a single route in the ..\Content\Routes folder?
I'd suggest using an *official* one, so try with one who's GUID starts with 0000......

Mike, could an issue with the assets folder used by a route through up an error when RW Tools tries to load the route?

OK I rename the new folder with " Routes-old " and created the new folder with " Routes " then copy/paste just one route with 00000001-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 from Routes-old to Routes. So the news is still the same with one time message Error 432 and Error 9 too. Then I closed the program of RW_Tools because of two errors and in Select Route from Routes Building Tools on top show blank in both boxes not even one route show in the box also the same with Select Route and Scenario from Scenarios on top of the program, RW_Tools show two boxes with gray out. No routes show in top box with Route Name and no scenarios show in bottom box with Scenario Name. I believe that more likely the problems is in the hand of Windows 7 Ultimate 64X not RW_Tools. Anyway thank you for your concern about this. Mike -- what Windows program do you use to create the program of RW_Tools? Java program or other program?? I am no export in Windows program to create the programs.

Hi John,

RW_Tools was originally written using Windows 7, then 8.1 and finally with 10 - as all of these are virtually identical, RW_Tools will work perfectly on any of them (also works on XP).

Can you run RW_Tools and email me as an attachment a screen print of the main screen window including the screen borders to allow me to see any problems there? Please email to agene at optusnet dot com dot au

John, as we're close to 'straw clutching' mode, cut that Routes-Old folder out of the game completely to completely eliminate any chance of something in there having an influence.
Then try again with just that single route in your new Routes folder.
