Has anyone succeeded in applying the Enhancement Pack to custom reskins downloaded from UKTS yet? If so, please could they publish a step-by-step guide? I'm trying to apply it to superalbs' VTEC 43290 reskin but the logos aren't showing even though I copied them across diligently.

If you'd copied them properly you'd expect them to show... however, check that the files the child object sections in the .bin reference are actually where they're referenced. Secondly, if the .bin files called for in the class 43 .bin aren't in the class 43 folder you'll need to enable the Provider/Product pairing for the child .bin files in any scenario using the 43---much easier though to simply move them if needed, and edit if required.

Short answer . . yes! I have done it with several, including the basic VTEC set (which I have also made personal improvements to) and the "special" class 43 units including 290 (MTU Fascination of Power)

I do assume you are using the RSC/ECMLS HST, and the MTU Enhancement Pack (not the Valenta!)

First question: did you have the original reskin up and running, complete with all decals, BEFORE trying to install the MTU enhancement pack?

If "yes", then second question: have you confirmed that you actually have "achieved" the MTU enahancement built into the 290 .bin file? A quick way to check is see if you need to turn the key in the cab, and to press Y to turn off the DRA.

If "no" then we have a larger issue - if you confirm this, I'm happy to explain in more detail THAT process, but if you have the MTU pack working then there's no need to go over it.

Assuming the second answer is also "yes", and therefore it is JUST about decals and/or logos missing, then . . are you seeing the Virgin logos but not the MTU special nameplate? Or nothing?

There are FOUR child object entries to copy from the old .bin file to the new (two for Virgin Logo, two for Fascination of Power)

Does your VirginTrainsEastCoast folder contain the bin files FascinationofPoerLeft.bin (and Right) and VirginLogoLeft.bin (and Right)?

Those .bin files then point to the Assets/superalbs/vtechst folder - do you have all four .GeoPcDx files and their textures there? Fascination of Power is in Nameplates, the Virgin logo is in Decals

Other than double checking all of that, and that you have copied the code correctly for all four child objects, I can't suggest anything else. If all else fails, double check that you really did copy every digit of each piece of code, not maybe missed off a < or whatever at the start or end of the block (we've all been there!). Always worth saying if you're otherwise stumped!

But coming back to an earlier question - if the problem is that you don't even have the actual MTU Enahancement Pack "working" on the 290, say so, and that's another step to cover . . .

It was probably due to the child objects being copied across incorrectly.

I'd personally wait for the updated BH x superalbs VTEC HST, will have lots of new features, and will have scenario compatibility for future scenarios going forward. :)

Interesting - I have already created (for myself) a "hybrid" of yours and BH Reskins versions, taking yours with coach letters, thinned the first class stripes a little and repositioned them, added First Class (text and number) to First Class doors, then all edited to use AP's MTU Enhancement pack. I have housed it all in your folder/file structure, but aliased everything from the BH Reskins folder/file structure as well, so that it will work whether a scenario calls it using the your file names or the BHR file names.

Sorry to ask again, i tried in another thread but no response.

I'm not too familiar with installing reskins in Railworks and was wondering if anyone would be able to help me apply the GWR repaints to the default Class 166/165 and HST Class 43, default ones used by Western Mainlines, not sure if it will cause any problems with scenarios but if anyone can help please do PM me.

Thanks

Are these existing reskins for those items or ones for others you'd like to port over?

OK...I'll drop you a PM rather than fill this thread with something un-related.
