Workshop scenarios unplayable

Post by msey0002 »

Hi all,

Yesterday I bought the South Wales Briston to Swansea route in the sale (great route by the way). I then proceeded to download some workshop scenarios. However, all the scenarios seem unplayable (as in the sim doesn't allow me to play them), even though I have all the required DLC. Does any know how to fix this, please?

Many thanks

Where are you trying to play them from? If it's the "Drive" button on the Drive, Workshop page then this doesn't always work. Much better to go into Drive, Standard and play from there under SWC, Bristol to Swansea route.

Hope this helps.

thanks for your reply. On the workshop section, there is indeed 'Drive', however this is greyed out. When I try to run it from the Standard/Career sections, the scenarios simply do not show up. This is strange as I have all the DLC. In fact, if I try to purchase the DLC it says I do not have, I am of course not allowed as I have it already.

I the system believes you don't have all the DLC assets required, the scenarios are still downloaded to your PC, just not installed.
Look in ..\Steam\steamapps\workshop\downloads for any .zip archives. Scenario ones have the prefix scn_ (or something similar, you'll soon work it out if you have any)
Simply extract the contents of those archives into the appropriate routes 'Scenarios' folder.

they could be for the Bristol Cardiff which was the original route then DTG extended the route to Swansea, which is the one you have, probably the paths have been altered which is the reason why the workshop scenarios don't work now

I thought this might be the case, but then i realised that the issue is actually with all workshop scenarios.

This worked! Thank you! But there are scenarios which contain 'legacy' files which I am unable to unzip. Very weird.

Apologies if perhaps I am asking the obvious, but my computer literacy is at a bare minimum :D. TS actually helps teach me a little

For example, if I go to the following path:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\24010\680824667

I find this file and nothing else: 277346667225590053_legacy.bin

This happens quite often, I would say 50/50. Other times, I find the compressed scenario and move manually as you had suggested.

Could you mail that .bin file to me?....gptechuk2000@yahoo.co.uk
By itself the number doesn't bring up anything in the Workshop, so it'd be hand to see just what the .bin contains--if anything!
