Mike, also very popular on the Central Section, where they were intermixed with the 2Bil sets, often Bil / Hal but can`t remember then running as Hal / Hal. Workings were Brighton - Seaford / Eastbourne and Brighton - W.Worthing / Littlehampton. The Pompies were normally 2 x 2 Bils, probably due to extra toilets.
.
A long needed units for sixties / seventies routes ( if and when ) now just need a Bil oh and a 4Cor would be nice

,6 Pan MBS,Second,Second,First,Pantry First,MBS,6PUL,MBS,Second Composite,Composite,Composite Pullman,MBS,Think they were used on Eastbourne and Littlehampton services, from Victoria.
I forgot besides the 2BIL,2HAL,There was the 2 NOL's, the Nol stands for no lavatory

Oh yes! But only if there were coaches from the Night Ferry to go with that as well!

It's a 4COR, otherwise known as a 'Nelson'. Splendid express units.

<<100% agree I think it's about time Lon - Fav was extended to Dover and I would LOVE the Lon - Chat extended too that would enable London Night Boat Trains
(57 Miles done, 26 to go ! )
Great fun, getting the coaches on and off the ferry in it's special dock.

Oh dreams !

I wonder lf that's a hint of what's to come as there are no Nelson 4 Cor ,4 Res ,4 Buf unit's in the library,I wonder if DTG are planing the coastway route between Brighton to Portsmouth ,set in the 1960's it would be ideal route for the 2 HAL set,and the Nelsons.

I'll buy it. I love these old Southern region units even though I am a Great Western Man at heart (from Penzance, Cornwall). It would be nice if London-Brighton and/or Portsmouth Direct got the Riviera Line treatment and went back to the 50's. We have loads of Steam loco's and stock available to use on them plus there is a very nice 4SUB, 2BIL, and the Brighton Belle in the download library. It doesn't seem right running them on modern routes.

My memories of the 2BIL's and Nelsons go back to the 1950's - I used to be on them every schoolday (which included Saturday mornings!) travelling between Havant and Petersfield and back. I seem to remember some non-corridor compartments where we could have a crafty smoke if we had it to ourselves. :D The Portsmouth Mainline in the 50's/60's would make a good route....in those days King Arthurs, West Countrys, Q1, N15X, could be seen regularly - even Lord Nelsons and Schools were occasional visitors...and of course the A1X was still taking the Hayling Billy to and from Havant.

I love threads like this---makes me feel so young.....

There's definitely a theme going on, with many wanting a 'backdated' version of a route to make it more 'suitable' so why don't all/a few of you get together and have a bash at producing such a thing?
Make it easy, pick one where the track work doesn't need huge changes then you're just dealing with 'dating' assets and revising the signals.
Yeah, I know that's not as easy as posting a wish list and there's no guarantee of success, but if you don't try.....

Having made a route for MSTS I could certainly make Southern Station boards etc, unfortunately being new to TS2017 , I wouldn't have a clue how to install them....

If I had the time and mind-bending ability I would probably take up the challenge.
Suffice to say I don't have much of either and already have a project on the go.

Plus there would need to be a lot of reference material available like track diagrams and enough photographs of each location.
I can already see Victoria being a bit of a conversion challenge, see this photo:
