Post by cardean »

Hi folks,

Have any of these Mk1 coaches been made for the simulator?

They aren't specifically listed by carriage type, but the West Highland Line South comes with Mk1 sleeper coaches and is currently just £12.49 too.

Thanks Matthew, I wondered about that route considering the sleepers ran over it.

I could be wrong with this but doesn't the Clan pack have them as well?

DT\AP do a RFO,seems strange that neither DT or AP have bought out a complete set of MK1 coaches, there are quite a few missing, like a FK, a proper CK,BSO,RK,SO,besides the ones mentioned in the heading.
Also it would be handy to have a Mk1 pack with them all in one place.
I would like thank DT\AP for their Mk1 pack,as it is.

Thanks for all the kind words :) .

I am in the process of updating the Clan blue grey reskins plus tinkering with other DLC also, to bring together as many Dovetail variants as I can muster.

In terms of the OP, there is an RK included in the LMS Coronation DLC (50% off at the mo):

This is the nearest I can think of to an RKB:

This pack also contains an RF, which can double as an RBK as some were converted. I have reskinned these into blue grey also and hope to release these in due course. An RSO and RUO are possible using other variants, the latter at least I have done one and will include as above,

The Clan is the most comprehensive pack in terms of mk1 variants. Others to note though, the original A1 Tornado and Exeter Kingswear DLC's include a correct pattern BFK:

The Railtours Class 57 DLC has an FO based upon the FK bodyshell - not ideal but I believe a prototype does exist in preservation.

Thanks everyone for you help.

Your news sounds great Richard, I have downloaded some of your coaches but this is all a bit new to me.... :)

Mike, where can I find the RFO?

The reason I asked about the RKB and the RUO was because back in the seventies when I was a shunter at Clayhills CS here in Aberdeen the two daytime London trains were made up of Air Con stock with the Mk 1's as the catering vehicles.

Unfortunately because there doesn't seem to be any Mk2 D,E,F BFKs nor FKs available either I can't replicate the trains.

Were there AC BFK/FKs at all? If so they must've been Mk2d, AFAIK all Mk2e/f were Open?

Oh yes there were and you're absolutely right they were Mk2D's,(I've just checked :D )

The BFK's were originally numbered in the 14xxx series but were renumbered into a new 17xxx series.

John.

Speaking of this are there any tutorials available on how to build coaches?
