Hi guys.
So far I haven't been able to install MSTS into my new Windows 8.1 computer. Everytime I try (using Yuri's method) I find the view cameras don't function.
In the tutorial Yuri advises in the 6th step to install to c:\Boot. With my computer I can't do this.
Can anyone who has managed to install the sim in Win 8.1 advise me.
Please note the computer relies on its inbuilt Intel HD graphics with no dedicated graphics card installed.
John.

Re: Installing into Windows 8.1
Hi John,
It's quite a while ago now, but when I was testing my utilities before uploading them, I actually installed and ran MSTS under Win 8.1 Pro 64 bit without any problems. I followed the Steam4Me tutorial, but used my own folder name; I'm surprised that C:\Boot was mentioned, as I thought that was reserved!
I suspect that your camera problems may be associated with the Intel graphics system, but having never used a PC with such fitted, I can't offer much help. Make sure you've installed the latest possible Win 8.1 drivers for the model of intel graphics you're running. Also, don't forget to set train.exe (and launcher.exe if you use the unmodified default Desktop icons, or the Start Menu entries) to "Run as administrator".
Cheers,
Ged

Re: Installing into Windows 8.1
Thanks Ged, I'll give it another go, I'll maybe transfer the graphics card out of my old XP computer into the new one.
