Re: VP-Northern lines-Blackpool To Preston

To clarify Tom is still working on fixing the route and looking into the scenario faults. I hold my hands up to some scenarios actually been included that shouldn't have been.

The fact of the matter is that to update the route takes me at least 2-3 hours just in terms of packing it up,sorting the website and then uploading various files.

The fixes to be taken care of are:
Scenario faults
Readme confusion
General minor route errors.
Other misc' messages we have received.

Both myself and Tom (the dev) have full time work (and he also has a one year old son) commitments and we spent until midnight Sunday into Monday trying to fix the route so that there wasn't an RWP that didn't work.

Sorry to be challenging but I don't take these matters sitting down, yep I accept there's problems, but it's only on UKTS where I find such impatience towards some of them, and this is a minority of course.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all those who've downloaded, and PARTICULARLY those who have expressed concerns and are giving us a chance to fix them.

If you don't tell us there's a problem we can't fix it!

1.1 fixed the broken RWP that people were reporting in Package Manager, none of our testers or myself had used package manager to load the files up and had simply dragged/dropped them into our installation, like I believe many do (as it's quicker),hence the issue was missed.

I am not going to install this route unless the developer looks at and addresses ALL the issues raised, and withdraws it from availability until they are sorted, and then uploads a completely new and totally trouble-free version !

I was so looking forward to driving this route, (no doubt like many others), but I dont have the skill or the time, to start tinkering with the contents to get them to work. That is the job of the developer.

Sorry !
Please remind us all, just how much did you pay for this route?

I would hope that you "bother" because the majority of the people who have downloaded the route are very grateful for your efforts and realise that it's very difficult to release a project such as this that works perfectly first time for everyone (including those that don't bother reading the instructions).

Don't worry John the download figures tell us the majority are happy. :)

It's just annoying how some unfortunate members see fit to berate everything, even when it's free :(

Be reet,I'm used to it

The update will not be out tonight due to Tom not having sufficient time to send the file to me,but I do hope to have it out,if not tomorrow,by Thursday. A full fix list will be provided upon release of 1.2.

Lets not lose sight of the fact that this is part of what was a much, much, bigger project--sadly likely not to be seen through as envisaged, so for Tomhas/VP to take on a part of that project, part of the vision of what was to be and be able to make sense of it (or at least some semblance of sense) and provide us (the moaners, critics, *can do betters*, don't care as long as it works, the grateful) with something that works is not only something to praise (albeit with small reservations in places) but to applaud. The *real* faults identified thus far in this thread, those that give, or are liable to give, US problems are very minor--or rather HAVE BEEN very minor thanks to the lunatics involved deciding sleep is for wimps.

Has anybody had the game crash or freeze when attempting to run a scenario, or drop into the route using the games in-built tools?.... I can't recall a post saying so, so lets put any issues into perspective--sn5775 has some *missing* glass; if push comes to shove we'll send the 24hr glaziers out and board the damn thing up!--there's nothing that can't be resolved if we work together.

Is anybody still having bother getting their hands on the UKTS Freepack for TPR assets?

Simply not good enough.... what else is he doing?.... don't tell me he's eating, spending time with his family or sleeping!

It'll be out when it's out Mark, possibly even better to give it another 24 hours to catch any other minor *niggles*?

as torrent remains the only way to get them, then yes.

John, I've downloaded it successfully through the browser using both IE 11 and Chrome, but as it's a pretty big file you may need to configure your browser to accept all cookies---it takes that long to transfer that you'll get lots of 'are you still here?' type messages so if your browser doesn't respond it'll just fade away.
