Would the cascade blending fix the current issue where tracks (in particular) only have shadows for a hundred yards or so in front of the train?

It makes it much less obvious. The shadows fade out at distance rather than cutting off sharply. So instead of having a shadow 'cutoff' line that travels ahead of the train, they fade into the distance.

The SSAO only shader works like a charm. There's a bit of a FPS impact on my potato system, but nothing terrible. Thanks a lot!

Thanks for the shader, I aslo had the banding with the 1st version, the SSAO version works fine.
