Just Trains - Mystery Route

Post by bailey7802 »

Has anyone worked out what the Mystery route Just Trains have announced is yet?. https://www.facebook.com/justtrains/pho ... =3&theater
There was rumours of it being the Midland Mainline. I hope if it is it will feature Burton - Derby-Nottingham-Sheffield. Its my local route. But JT ask a while ago (Few days ago) asking for info for signals between Derby - Sheffield. So who knows? ;) We'll have to wait and see on that development :)

Indeed - we will have to wait and see.

The speculation on Facebook is so ludicrous (e.g.Cogload Junction, etc) that I refuse to read that nonsense. Nobody currently knows where it is, so there's little point in guessing.

I just look forward to its release, wherever it is.

My vote goes for Aynho Junction just south of Banbury.

Checking the LNW South Sectional Appendix the speed restrictions shown, 90 on to the Marylebone line and 75/90 HST towards Oxford are correct.
So it could be an extension to Western Lines from Oxford northwards to Banbury (and further north?) or could it be the route from Marylebone to Banbury :)

No doubts that it is here, the question is how much of the route is covered? I'm hoping it turns left for Bicester rather than just extending up from Oxford via Heyford.

I have to agree with others...its Aynho Junction ok. Although "google earth" latest photos are out of date for that area, (and I think there was some significant track rationalisation since then)...its almost a dead cert for the place !

There aren't any junctions where the slow peels off and up like that shot shows on the right, and the curves/speeds shown match Anyho Jcn perfectly too

I would think I'm in Heaven - If it were the Chiltern Line ADDED to Western Mainline.
