I'm in the process of creating a scenario for South London to Brighton, I want to attempt something very ambitious and realistic...... Here is a brief description of the scenario....


The scenario uses the 1999 timetable, it starts in the sidings at Brighton and involves the player driving from Brighton to London, down to Crawley waiting 40 mins (simulating the run to Horsham and back) before driving back up to London then driving ECS back down to Brighton.

Almost all of the AI services in the scenario begin in sidings and then form multiple services like the player train does.


I want to know if this is too much to ask of the dispatcher as it is currently throwing up a problem, there is a train that starts in the siding next to the player train, the player train leaves at 05:40 and the AI train leaves at 06:00. The scenario editor is telling me that the services are blocking each other even when I delete the stop at Brighton station. Does that mean it is not possible to create this type of scenario? i.e AI can't follow behind the player?

I would suspect that it is most likely the lack of signals within Lovers Walk that is throwing up the blocking error. The dispatcher is quite capable where the signalling and track properties allow it to. Track properties can nearly all be tweaked in the scenario editor, but there isn't much you can do about the signalling.

Have you tried juggling the priorities of the services?
With regard to signal 'alterations' in scenarios, I have a (very untested) dummy signal based on a colour light distant that's easily buried underground--if you'd like to experiment I'll gladly send you the files.

I used the Ai only signals Richard provided a link to, I placed one at the entrance to each siding in lovers walk and the problem went away. Oddly enough though now I have a new issue which is "unable to resolve clash" this is between the same services as before but only came about when I added the rest of the passenger stops on the Ai route, this has me stumped because one goes to Victoria the other goes to bridge and the one that goes to bridge leaves 20 minutes after.

Nevertheless I shall continue tinkering
