Just Trains Britannia and V2

Post by michaelhendle »

Hi
I was wondering if anyone could help me with making the Just Trains Britannia locomotives 70037 Hereward the Wake and 70048 Anzac, permanently.
If it's legal could they send me the necessary files please,so that I can just drop them in the folder, since my stroke I find following instructions as printed difficult.
The V2 I would like is 60873 Coldstreamer mainly because my grandfather was in 2nd Battalion Coldstream guards and KIA 16 December 1916.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated,oh I have already bought both these Just Trains locomotives,it's a pity a few extra names and numbers aren't included, they just seem to add preserved names and numbers,I'm sure I'm not the only one who has problems.

Hi Mike, I made the nameplates for the JT Class 7MT and news that there may not be a full set of nameplates is certainly a surprise to me - I sent a complete set of 58 nameplates so unless they haven't included them for some reason, then it should be there. I shall investigate that when I get home.

Edit: From further re-reading, did you just want a 7MT loco config that would always default to showing these examplesand no others?

I would love to help with the V2 but I am currently not able to purchase it, and that won't change for at least a month I am afraid.

Hello Matthew,
Sorry if I wasn't very clear, yes I only wanted 70037 and 70048 to show up in the sim and in RW Tools,so that I can swap loco's in scenario's.

Thanks for your help,I had been following your development for the Britannia's on facebook, and you made excellent work of them

Okay, I am just travelling back from a week away, so at some point this evening hopefully I shall be getting back upon the TS wagon and I'll quickly whip up a couple of config files for you that work exactly as you want. Did you want them to be warm start versions, or whatever the slightly more 'prepped' version is called?

Hereward the Wake and Anzac are definitely included in the Brit pack, as is Coldstreamer in the V2 pack. You simply need to change the number in the character string (first 5 digits) to the number of the locomotive that you want in the scenario editor, and the nameplates will automatically be there waiting for you when you play the scenario.

Kind regards,
Chris

I'm curious. As there were only ever 55 Brits; built and only 54 ever named, what were the other 4 nameplates, or is this a mis-type. Also the JT manual only lists the 54 correct names.

Please forgive me for not remembering every minor detail of the pack, it was a long time ago that I did it.

55 locos, 54 names, but Oliver Cromwell also has a commemorative name for the TA 100th anniversary, and has red and black backed variants, so that makes a total of 56 I did.

Hi Matthew,
There's no rush for them,do it when you get a few moments spare.
Thank you for doing it for me.

Chris due to my stroke, it affected part of my brain, which means what is simple for most people becomes difficult to me,believe me I have tried, but can't but the instructions just don't click. Also I can't even figure out how to get into the scenario editor, let alone use it

Thanks everyone for all your help and advice,it's really appreciated.

Right, I had just got through all of the config files and then upon checking I discovered that 70046 and not 70048 is Anzac, although 70048 retains the military theme with being the TA locomotive.

Won't be long and there shall be a lonk posted out in this thread.

Okay, so I have made an installer, all you need to do is point it to your Railworks directory - by default it will be set to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\RailWorks - and run the installer and all the files should pop into place. I have doen both for the clean, intermediate and weathered versions to give you variety.

Matthew,

I have just tried one of them and it works fine also Anzac is showing in the sim and RS Tools, and just to say that up to the summer of 1958 numbers 70046/47/48/49 were still unnamed,70050-54 had been given Scottish names. So any one making a scenario, pre 1958 don't use the unnamed locomotives.

I like the lightly weathered version it looks the most realistic, the heavy weathered ones are more realistic for 1965 onwards

Thank you for such fine models
