Albula line from DTG/Thomson

Having seen a few videos I must admit many of the sounds are poor, in particular the door and recycled BR101 sounds. I cannot stand them, I want someone who is up for it to do a sound mod so the equipment can actually sound decent, even though I might not have this pack.

When I travelled on the route in 2008,there was quite a variety of freight stock,besides container wagons there were CO-OP vans,open wagons with timber and cement wagons,also most trains just had ordinary coaches,and definitely different types of electric locomotives

Hopefully DTG could bring out a stock pack,I can remember a lot of station sidings had 1 or 2 Co-op vans in them,the Co-op trains ran at night,taking full vans and taking away the empty vanss

If the route is popular, then I am sure there will be additional stock. As regards sounds the GE4/4 shares a lot of equipment with the BR101, given the cost of recording accurate sounds at best I would expect that a re-hash of existing sounds by the community is most likely. Try posting on Railsim de, but I would suggest asking politely if anyone has any plans for this rather than I want, otherwise the response is likely to be short and to the point. Although not perfect it is quite a nice route, and a pleasant drive, even though I am not a fan of NG

It is a very good looking route, with lots of nice detail.

Chris trains NG NZ DMU should look ok as well, and I've seen screenshots of somebody using the South African stock on this line as well. Pur fantasy, but maybe fun all the same.

I'm surprised South African Stock and the New Zealand DMU work on it, as they are both Cape Narrow Gauge Trains,which is 3' 6" not Meter Gauge.

I will definitely get it now,as the mountains could pass off as the Drakensburg Mountains Northern Natal,you could use the 6E electric locomotive and the new class 24 when it's released.

There's something maybe you should understand about the simulator.

Anything can work on anything, because to the simulator interprets a train as a train, and track as track. Size is irrelevant.
So physically you could run 2ft gauge trains on standard gauge track if that's your thing, it wouldn't matter. No train or track, big or small, are incompatible because they share the same functional properties.

The only problem you have running stock which is bigger than the default stock is clearance to other rail vehicles.
Platforms, buildings, tunnels and other structures are not a problem but go too close the the coach/loco/wagon on the next track and you get a collision.

The Albula line is almost entirely worked by Ge 4/4/III (passenger) and Ge 6/6/II (freight) locomotives. Two trains a day operate as the Bernina Express going to Tirano just inside Italy and these are worked by 3-car Allegra units with a number of panoramic coaches attached.

As mentioned in another post the Allegra units along with the Ge4/4II are being made by Simtrain.ch

Hopefully somebody else will oblige, Simtrain products so far have tended to be overpriced and lacking in quality.
