Both packs updated with compressed textures, re-download from your account to get the update.

My railway photos are now on Google + - links to the albums are in this thread http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 9&t=149558
Lots of steam and early diesels from 1959 to 1963.

Texture compression results in smaller files, thus less memory loaded into VAS and VRAM. Lowering the memory footprint of the textures should help when trying to use heavy AI scenarios or routes with poor memory management. If you wish to read up more on texture compression, this is a great starting point: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texture_compressiongptech wrote:And what are the benefits/improvements?

Hi all,
Do you need to delete previous versions before installing updated one's or do you just install over existing class 90's.
Regards,
Pete.

No problem in just installing over the top, Pete.

So, unless you're experiencing performance issues, little if any benefit at all?
Re: AP/Waggonz class 90 update
Will the Class 90 re-skins for the Wherry Lines scenario packs be updated or do they already have compressed textures?

Re: AP/Waggonz class 90 update
Remedial and preventative depending on the user. With how close most of the latest routes operate to the memory limit, and how unstable GEML (the main route for the 90) is when it comes to memory consumption, this should have a positive impact for anyone using the Class 90. I could go into details about loading less texture data, and how the game offloads textures/reloads them, and how your HDD read speed could affect FPS and spikes in erg rendering times, but that's probably a secondary benefit to the main one previously stated. But yes, it will have a noticeable benefit for many- enough of a reason in my mind to release an optional update.gptech wrote:GatwickSpotting wrote:Texture compression results in smaller files, thus less memory loaded into VAS and VRAM. Re: AP/Waggonz class 90 update
In my opinion, any update that reduces the memory load whilst running the 90 and provides more breathing room for this game, without sacrificing the image quality, is to be welcomed. Thanks very much for the update, chaps.GatwickSpotting wrote: Remedial and preventative depending on the user. Re: AP/Waggonz class 90 update
Just tried running the first WCML scenario that comes with the AP Class 90 and I get missing assets, Class 156 and the 86250 which I assume is the Class 86 which I have both of. This is with the update.

Was that "WCML-North - APC90: 10.35 London Euston - Glasgow Central" ?
I have just installed the updates, and the current version of all the Extra Stock packs as well. This scenario loads and runs AOK for me.
Perhaps the Extra Stock requirements have changed?

Re: AP/Waggonz class 90 update
Just fixed it by clearing cache from inside the game. Yes that was the scenario.
