Ive just got around to installing this route and i must say it looks fabulous and id like to say a big thank you to all those involved in building it.Its nice to have another quality freeware British steam route especially with main line semaphore block signalling and now at last we have somewhere to run those fast A4 Pacific express trains :D .After having a quick scan in the scenario editor it would have been nice to have had more port holes on the main lines to get rid of AI train services quicker and easier during scenarios with heavy AI traffic but im definitely not complaining i just think it would aid in complex scenarios. The route loads up perfectly but i have a couple of things showing as missing when i run it through RW-Tools and just wondered if anyone else has had same problem.

missing assets:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\Cunningn\Misc\Belle-Isle.bin,(Scenery Item) on tile -000010-000069.bin,,,
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\Cunningn\Misc\Cambs_ChalkCliff.bin,(Scenery Item) on tile -000021-000025.bin,,,
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\Cunningn\Misc\Cambs_ChalkCliff.bin,(Scenery Item) on tile -000021-000025.bin,,,
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\Cunningn\Misc\KingsCrossStn-1.bin,(Scenery Item) on tile -000011-000070.bin,,,
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\Cunningn\Misc\Platform Electric Trolley.bin,(Scenery Item) on tile -000010-000070.bin,,,
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\Cunningn\Misc\Top-shed.bin,(Scenery Item) on tile -000011-000070.bin,,,
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\Developer\ELR_PDH\Particles\Mill_Smoke.bin

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\RailVehicles\Freight\16TMineralWagon\Grey Dirty\16tmineral_05_static.bin

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\RSC\APStation\Stations\Goods_shed03.bin,(Scenery Item) on tile -000011-000018.bin

The last one is abit of a puzzle because i have got the AP station pack installed and after having a quick check in the folders i can only find Goods_shed01.Also im wondering if the 16tmineral_05_static.bin is a asset by Buckeye but i have installed the 3 static wagon packs.

thanks alot Newbouy

Folks

I have uploaded a patch for the route (fileid:35904) - this includes the missing assets as reported by several people and also fixes some of the issues raised (especially by Roland). Just needs installing over the top of the existing stuff of course.

Missing assets
These were missing but aren't needed and refs have been removed:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\Cunningn\Misc\Belle-Isle.bin,
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\Cunningn\Misc\Cambs_ChalkCliff.bin,
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\Cunningn\Misc\Cambs_ChalkCliff.bin,
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\Cunningn\Misc\KingsCrossStn-1.bin,
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\Cunningn\Misc\Platform Electric Trolley.bin,
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\Cunningn\Misc\Top-shed.bin,

These are for future editing purposes - please ignore:
,,, \rivimey\Cambs\Environment\Terrain\Decals\ e.g. CamNmkt 0067 X2 Y2.bin
,,, \Cunningn\Cambs\environment\terrain\decals\ e.g. somer x3 y2.bin

These are included in this patch:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\Developer\ELR_PDH\Particles\Mill_Smoke.bin
Assets\Buckeye\Lanky\Scenery\Vehicles\BR_7plankstatic_00.bin
Assets\Buckeye\Lanky\Scenery\Vehicles\BR_Van_00.bin
Assets\Buckeye\Lanky\Scenery\Vehicles\BR_Van_05.bin
Assets\Buckeye\Lanky\Scenery\Vehicles\BR_Van_10.bin
Assets\Buckeye\Lanky\Scenery\Vehicles\BR_Van_15.bin
Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\RailVehicles\Freight\16TMineralWagon\Grey Dirty\16tmineral_05_static.bin
Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\RailVehicles\Freight\16TMineralWagon\Grey Dirty\16tmineral_10_static.bin
Assets\letsRole\RailNetwork\Track\bath_temp_track01_No_Buff.bin
Assets\letsRole\RailNetwork\Track\bath_temp_track02_No_Buff.bin
Assets\RSC\APStation\Stations\Goods_shed03.bin

Bugs fixed:
platform walking height need adjusting Royston Scenery Neil 18/5/16
The signal to the Yards from Newmarket, is using the wrong arm. Newmarket Track Roland 4/8/2016
passengers playing "Chicken" at the Down platform of Longstanton Station Longstanton Track Roland 2/8/2016 pssgr off the edge of the platform on the stn bldg side
tall signal' doesn't clear as you leave Oakington stn towards Cambridge Oakington Track Roland 2/8/2016 just removed bad semaphore leaving shunt signal in sdg preceeding
double arm signal as you leave the 15mph line from Cambridge, heading north Cambridge Track Roland 2/8/2016 parallel goods line to left of mainline - signal doesnt work when goods line rejoins mainline.

Let me have any feedback as usual. more bugfixes on the way - apologies - didn't get round to adding more portals - but if there are any locations where these are needed then just let me know.

BTW - hoping to release some route-relevant loco re-skins (and a new scenario) soon ...

Thanks. I should also have said that this includes the fixed loft and road tiles courtesy of gptech and mike - so hopefully rwtools will run cleanly for people now!

Thanks for the update patch very much appreciated Neil.Regarding portholes im not a route builder but looking from a scenario writers point of view portholes would be very handy mid way between the main stations at least and proberbly even more on long sections of main line with no stations.Branch lines could have one about 2 miles after the junction off the main line and about 2 miles before the terminus station as single lines are a pain to get AI trains to work correctly. My basic theory is once the player has seen the AI service its best to get rid of it unless your gonna come across it later in the scenario.

Thanks Newbuoy - I have put in interm, edites (marked 'Xit xxx' in the scenario editor) plus the usual 'end of track' stuff - but if anyone needs something specific then I'm happy to put it in.

Neil,

Thank you very much for the patch.

Unfortunately it doesn't actually include the following:

\Assets\Buckeye\Lanky\Scenery\Vehicles\BR_Van_00.bin
\Assets\Buckeye\Lanky\Scenery\Vehicles\BR_Van_05.bin

I only managed to get the route working this weekend, after much trial and error with RW Tools to get me up and running, and I have to say this has brought back many happy childhood memories of train spotting at Hitchin and journeys to KX. I more or less gave up on TS some years ago as I found MSTS easier to tinker with, but your route has made me realise just how good RS can be.

Thank you for the patch Neil - I see you have added a couple more scenarios too. Quick question - where did you get the A1 reskins for the Widened Lines N2 scenario, I have searched for it in vain.

Thanks for the kind words - it's great to hear that all the work is being enjoyed by other people.

In truth I hadn't intended to release the Suburban scenario until I had released the A1 and A3 reskins - which is why you can't find them anywhere. The A1 stuff is being tested now and I hope to do a revised A3 pack after that. I'm away for a few days this weekend so nothing much will happen until the end of next week I suspect. Just sub them with the SCsteam version of Tornado and the standrad Flying Scotsman if you want to run them now.

To the various people who spotted that some of the Buckeye assets were missing .... they are defintely in the v2.02 of the patch which I have just uploaded - please install that to get the benefits (also includes revised canopy at Newmarket (new) station - thanks to Roland for reporting that one....

Have fun

And as a small teaser - this is a work in progress shot...

Michael

Mike has already done one as you probably know - but I am hapy to do a couple of relevant ones. I may do 'Bronzino' as a result of reading the article in Steam World in which a memorable run was enjoyed by the writer with a heavy train North.

Cheers

If anyone else has mentioned this, I've missed it & am sorry to mention it. Kings Cross Passenger Loco layout. Put an A4 in there the other day (in the editor) then could not get it out, (in game), as the turnouts are too tight...I derailed. The yard has been laid with a Yard rule, but the tightness of the turnouts precludes any use of six-coupled engines. It's a cosy little corner but I think re-laying might need to be done (in parts) to ease the flange binding & derailments.

Cheers for listening

Yamsi - thanks for mentioning it - I have laid the track according to the OS map - and it is certainly tight - but I have only tested with shunters  I will check what needs changing and see what can be achieved inside the constraints of the track tool. I know that in reality the bigger diesels were constantly coming adrift but the Pacifics didn't - must have been very tight. It is great to see that people are testing the edges of what I've done - as a one-man-band I haven't tested every bit in every scenario so I'm sure it won't be the last problem. But I'm very happy that you have run it and that I can do something about it. many thanks.
