BR Blue 4 CIG AWS
I treated myself after 'finally' getting a start with my new job by buying the Chatham/BR Blue bundle pack.
I seem to be having an issue with the AWS alarm no sounding? Is this a known issue or is it just me?
I've tried clearing the Cache and reinstalling.

For disclosure, I am affiliated with a third party developer however, I do not know anything about any future releases unless I'm working on them and even then, I'd be breaking years worth of built up trust to say anything about it

It's a known issue, at least it happens on mine as well, which has been reported to DTG.pjt1974 wrote:....I seem to be having an issue with the AWS alarm no sounding? Is this a known issue or is it just me?..

Re: BR Blue 4 CIG AWS
is the code present in the proxyxml? Are you using the AP sounds? Maybe using AP sounds can amend the problem if you're using the default sound.

Nope, not using AP sounds, not going anywhere near the proxyxml and not spending an extra fiver just to get my AWS working in DLC I've just bought.

Re: BR Blue 4 CIG AWS
It works for me, just tried both the DMBS and DTS in a free roam scenario (London-Brighton route) though it's not very loud.
EDIT: Ignore that---I'll try again with the right stock.....

Re: BR Blue 4 CIG AWS
Absolutely spot on---the sound file for the warning horn itself isn't referenced in the Class 421 Cab.proxyxml.tycoonkid9 wrote:is the code present in the proxyxml?
Try this one---https://www.dropbox.com/s/sgwsecjtvcoae ... 2.zip?dl=0
If you're invited to log in or sign up just click the "no thanks, continue to..." bit at the bottom of the pop-up.
Once downloaded, just extract the contents into your ..\Assets\DTG\BRBluePack02 folder.
It'd be worthwhile to delete the ..\Assets\DTG\BRBluePack02\Blueprints.pak file before testing to ensure the amended file is cached.

File amended to also *fix* the 'clear' sound...

Re: BR Blue 4 CIG AWS
Hi Gary, your fix is working well for me; have you got any idea how to solve the one problem I still have with sounds for this otherwise-excellent stock, which is that pressing the guard call button sounds the horn high tone....

Re: BR Blue 4 CIG AWS
Yeah, using the 'B' key to give us two tone horns messes up that feature. How to assign a different key/button/action to the guard bell/buzzer is something for somebody who knows more about setting sounds up than I do though. Comparing various files with the Class421Pack01 model hasn't helped, as that uses a single sound file for the complete horn sound.KGBUssr wrote:pressing the guard call button sounds the horn high tone....

Re: BR Blue 4 CIG AWS
Maybe just contact Richard for the AP sound update so you guys don't have to moan about the default sounds. The AP 421/422/423 sound pack has a new input mapper that adds two tone horn operability and the guard bell.
Re: BR Blue 4 CIG AWS
I'm not moaning, and nor is anyone else who has contributed to this thread as far as I can see, just expecting that the product should work properly form the outset or be quickly patched to fix it. Is that an unreasonable expectation?tycoonkid9 wrote:Maybe just contact Richard for the AP sound update so you guys don't have to moan about the default sounds......

Not at all - thing should work as advertised. It does surprise me that DTG bring out a product and then release another version which does not work as expected because they changed some files.AndyUK wrote:I'm not moaning, and nor is anyone else who has contributed to this thread as far as I can see, just expecting that the product should work properly form the outset or be quickly patched to fix it. Re: BR Blue 4 CIG AWS
Was it advertised as having a two tone horn?...if so then it works as advertised.749006 wrote:Not at all - thing should work as advertised
Yes, but was that change to give *us* the features *we* wanted? (see above re: two tone horn)749006 wrote:.....because they changed some files.
Depends on your definition of "broke"---class 91 has/had a prototypical DSD system, but there have been many calls to enable it being disabled---is that a case of wanting a *broken* system?749006 wrote:If it's not Broke, don't Fix It.
Granted, there are issues with the model but they're really rather minor---annoying, and things that should have been picked up in testing, but nothing that stops you driving it. Send nice polite and factual reports of what doesn't work to DTG and they'll take note---might not take any action but at least they'll know.
