Blair has done some superb scenarios for other routes and I have to confess I have downloaded these in readiness for when I get the route

Hi all,

I have just started this scenario, the summary screen says that the weather is supposed to be "Autumn" and "Clear". However when it loads it looks foggy and everything shows as a pale yellow. Even the smoke from the Class 20 exhaust is yellow! It looks awful.

I have looked at the definition of the scenario with RW_Tools, and the weather blueprint is one of the older Kuju ones, " RW_Hazy"

Has anyone come across this sort of behavior previously? I seem to recall some threads from ages ago about issues with fog/haze etc on the new TS20xx weather systems. But I've never seen it like this.

Those of you that have run Blair's scenario already, what does it look like for you?

Cheers,

All fixed!

Seems that quite some time ago, (TS2015), when the new 3D weather system was implemented we all had a lot of trouble with various effects and particularly how the older RW weather blueprints looked. There was a UKTS file, 33401, produced by Richard Maxted that largely fixed the odd look of the old weather on the new system for 3rd party routes etc. It helped greatly with the very white look of distant hills and terrain etc.

To quote from Richard's read-me: "This mod replaces the default KUJU weather files that seem to be producing the white hills issue ( and yellow fog issue ) post 2015."

Interesting that Richard mentions a 'Yellow Fog' issue. To my surprise my installation was still running with those modified files!

So, I simply updated them to the 'current' versions and lo and behold the RW_Hazy looks normal. I will be interested to see how some other routes and scenarios are affected as it seems that perhaps the files have been fixed by DTG.

Cheers,
Trevor
