Re: JustTrains LNER V2 advanced
Oh, now that is a surprise...!
Is Green Arrow likely to make a return (I.e. for sourcing sounds?) I thought she was broke and unlikely to return
(I wonder if Mr Ross could be tempted back to Carlisle, for one more route...)

If it's Carlisle, you must be thinking of The Waverley Route,or a steam version of the East Coast all the way from Aberdeen to Kings X the V2 was the most common loco used on the fish train express goods.

Re: JustTrains LNER V2 advanced
A number of questions for Just Trains: will there be choice of inside or outside steam pipes, any namers and will a double chimney be included?
Looks very good so far.
Regards, John.

Yes, yes and yes. Its modeller, Matthew Ivey, has been very comprehensive with the number of detail variants made.levisham wrote:A number of questions for Just Trains: will there be choice of inside or outside steam pipes, any namers and will a double chimney be included?

YAY!
So so so so happy! Got a day one purchaser here lads on the strength of the K4 and the Clan; driving steamers has really been elevated to a new level in TS2016 thanks to your advanced range - the only thing I'd ask for is some 1930's era routes to run em on.
Thanks!

Re: JustTrains LNER V2 advanced
Wow, this does look like a definite purchase for me, although the sounds will sell it. I had the best mainline steam run of my life over S&C / Shap (in deep snow!) behind 60800 and also the best run on a preserved line with the same engine, Grosmont-Pickering on a gala weekend, topping the southbound climb out of Goathland at a shade over 50mph after a storming run up the 1:49 from Grosmont.
It was said that a good V2 was the equal of an A3 Pacific, except at the very top end of the speed range. During WW2 it was not unknown for a V2 to work a 20-coach express out of Kings Cross and keep the train moving along in the 50-60mph range. Equally at home on express freights and slow heavy goods workings, the perfect mixed traffic engine.
(You might detect my enthusiasm for the class, and me a solid GWR man. All we need is a version with extremely off-beat exhaust and leaking steam everywhere and I'm sorted

Looking good, can't wait to drive it over Woodhead and the S&C in preserved form. My poor wallet won't be able to cope I have still to get the Britannia and the K4, let alone the DT Collett Goods.

Re: JustTrains LNER V2 advanced
Nice, I hope they do some filthy black early BR ones (without the overhead wire warning plates - never had them back in my day) or even proper LNER ones.
Used to see them every day in my trainspotting days in Tweedmouth yard around 1951/2

Re: JustTrains LNER V2 advanced
Hi
I hope JT will do either the V1&or the L1 tank locomotives,we really need a good ex LNER tank locomotive, all we've got at present is the J50,I wonder if the DT tank loco will come with the condensing pipe, ideal for cross London freight trips.

Re: JustTrains LNER V2 advanced
Would be fab to see these running with DT's (previously announced) P2...
... even if the prototypical overlap is quite limited.
