BR7MT Britannia

Post by Blenheim »

Hi
Help needed.

I've just bought BR7MT Britannia Advanced and I am unable to make it move. I have been able to move the regulator and the train brake, but as far as the reverser is concerned it just wants to stay at zero. I've had a look at the list of keyboard controls and most of them are the same as the MSTS controls.

So I am at a loss as to how to get it moving, so I would appreciate some help please.

Regards,
Steve

Steve.
This loco (and the 5MT) is fitted with a reverser lock. Press the "E" key to unlock, set reverser, then press "E" again to lock. Repeat for each movement.

Hi John,

Sorry for the confusion that's about to unfold.

I didn't realise that we are only aloud one Trainsim Account. I started another one for Train Simulator 2016 problems, my first being this one about the BR7MT.

I did what you said and tried it again. I put the reverser to 75% and locked it, then the regular to about 45% and break fully off but it still didn't move. In MSTS it would have been moving straight away.

Regards,

Steve

These locos use advanced controls and cannot be driven strait out of the box like most including MSTS ones. You need to read the manual for the 7MT which is under Steam developers which is under Programs/Apps when you press the Windows start button lower left on the task bar.
Intel i5-2500K 3.3GHz Quad Core, Asus P8Z 68-V LE MB, Asus GTX 1060 Strix 6GB Gaming graphics card, Windows 10 Home 64 bit, 16gb Corsair Vengeance DDR3 ram, Viewsonic VX2452mh LED 1080P HD Monitor. Seagate Barracuda 1 TB HD, Seagate Firecuda 2 TB HD,

Hi Trev123

Thanks that advice Trev,I was wondering if there was such a thing. I notice that a lot of the keyboard controls are similar to the MSTS ones.

Anyway I'll have a look for that.

Hi
I have some Just Trains Locomotives, with the Standard Five there is a switcher which allows you to switch from Advanced mode to simple mode, and back again from simple to advanced,I wonder if this one has it as well.
If it does I will buy it if not it will go on the back burnner,as advanced mode is beyond my brains capability.

There is an advanced and simple mode switched which gets installed as a shortcut on your desktop - in reality what happens is your files contain three different config files. An active one ending .bin and one ended .simple and another .advanced. All the swither does is delete and rename.
