Hi, since I last seriously created anything in TS (Longmoor in 2012) I havn't really followed what's been going on in the editor.
Now I'm back and wanting to create a new route, I thought I would look at a couple of the latest professional routes to see any updates.
North Somerset and Mallaig have shown me that there have been some significant updates in the scenery creation tools. So I thought I would look for an updated TS creators manual. Can't find one.
I have 665 documents in my TS Manuals files a lot I have created by copying TS articles. e.g. TS TechnicalUpgrades: Asset Placement in the Editor this is in the TS Engine-Driver website. But no one comprehensive manual.
Question - Is there a developers manual ? What do the "official" route builders use ? or is "TOP SECRET" ! if so why ?
Cheers

Re: TS2016 Technical Upgrades
Look in the Dev folder.
Why is it so often the case that when somebody can't find an *instant* answer, the suggestion is made that there's possibly something being purposefully hidden from the mere mortals?

Re: TS2016 Technical Upgrades
Hi GP, As always I appreciate your help, slightly more than your cynicism!
I am fully aware of the Developer folder, in it I have 52 documents but nothing newer than 06/08/2008 Or is there another secret location !
The other one in the root BTW only has 7 how to use documents that certainly dont seem to cover some of the newest features.
I have spent almost half the day looking for documents, TS really need to rationalise the websites they have its all very confusing if you are not “in the know”
I don’t spend all of my time In TS I do have other interests So when I do try to find information, I usually have to resort to here as it’s devoted experts like yourself that make it possible for part timers like to participate.
As to “secret” that’s exactly what it ‘feels’ like when you cannot find information and judging by other posts there are others who also find this information difficult to come by.

Re: TS2016 Technical Upgrades
RailWorks\dev\Docs should have 7 pdf files inside it, all dealing with improvements for TS12 - 15.
Expanding the TS wagon fleet.

You have 700 files in your in-game documents folders but say DTG should rationalise their webites?
A case of a pot and a kettle there?
Is there anything at http://www.dpsimulation.org.uk/tutorials.html that helps?

Re: TS2016 Technical Upgrades
Yes that link is VERY useful, thank you, I don’t know who run’s that website but they should get a medal for content, very time I look there is more useful interesting information especially the loco info.
655 Documents. 289 are PDF’s that came with content, the rest are my versions/grabs/copies of handy information and guidance that I have found myself over the years I have used Railworks (sorry) Rail Simulator (sorry) TrainSimulator I keep them all together indexed , labelled, and filed so I can easily find information
Yes, as for websites, I find keeping up with or searching and sometimes having to log in if needed, too much/many.
