New version of The Great Central Railway out from SSS.

Post by TransportSteve »

SteamSoundsSupreme have released their latest edition of the GCR for TS2016, with a new Black 5 and 8F included, so, for all those who may be interested go here immediately, and don't forget to read the manual, I've put a link up for that as well...... :D

EDIT: I understand that there is a problem with one of the included Asset folders (Mundo) all the Pylons and textures are showing as 0kb, it is being looked at.

I'll have a look at this when I can get on the computer. I actually was there today on a driving experience and had a go at driving the Black 5 45305 in real life! A really enjoyable experience and a great day out.

Unfotrunately the update hasn't fixed the zero-length files problem. In fact there are more zero-length files in the update (13) than there were in the original release (11).

Just installed the update which was supposed to insert some missing rollingstock (according to the included readme file) it did indeed, for me it was the "IE Mk1 Generator Van" but I find I'm still missing this: Newbouy\Addon\RailVehicles\Freight\TPOCoaches_1\Red ExWorks\Coach\nsaCoach.bin I do have installed: Newbouy\Addon\RailVehicles\Freight\TPOCoaches\Red ExWorks\Coach\nsaCoach.bin

Anyone know it's whereabouts please?

Yes indeed. I also noticed this. In fact, when looking in my Assets directory the files that are zero byte in the new RWP files do exist and are valid. Installing these new assets with the GCR will in fact break assets that are already in place. I have thought about editing the RWP files to remove the zero byte instances, but I think I will just wait until the guys get it sorted out.

I have e-mailed SSS about this a few days ago, but have received no response at all. Which is rather unusual for Matt and the team.

Well, I found that the folder by Mundo with the pylons, wires and appropriate textures in was already in situ on my hard drive, before I even installed this route. Have you guys got any of the other freebie routes from SSS, the Wycombe Railway & Joint Line, for example, maybe the same Asset folder is bundled up with that and the files are all present and correct, you could even have a look in the UKTS library to see if they are in a little package on their own, I can't think of any other routes that Mundo's electricity pylons have been utilised on at the moment, just a thought........ :fadein:

Sorry everyone! I don't know where these zero byte files are coming from? They're not in the .rwp files prior to upload. We are investigating. . . . . . . .

Best Regards,
Matt

Yes, it's over 350mb's, I think I'll wait until the morning to download and install also.

Thanks for the patch, anyway.
