Project Freiberg (Sachs) V2 now available

Post by holzroller »

Released today http://rail-sim.de/forum/wsif/index.php ... 2-0/#files note that the manuals are also included in the main download as well as seperately. The Chemnitz area is quite resource heavy, and there are some new downloads needed in addition to the old ones.

Just had a quick look - even the Scenario and Assets pdf files are in english - and not too many new items required.
I also notice the files to change Karl Marx Stadt in to the newer Chemnitz are included as well :)

V1 is one of the better freeware German routes - this extension looks great :)

He's gone further West from Floha Station, and included that massive yard and Chemnitz, excellent, this looks very good, can't see much extension to anywhere else on the map, but, V2 will be very welcome, thanks for the heads up, Holz.

Nearly 800 downloads already and it's only been up 3 hours, he must be well chuffed with the response.

I would think so, although if anything like last time very few donations, although I know he doesn't too much worry about that. He is just grateful for anything given, money isn't the point of it all.

Holz, thanks for the head up - slowly re-installing routes, having decided to clear everything and restart, ( yes did back-up everything first - so important assets are still in store) this route getting very close to re-instate --- now can go straight to V2.
.
Once again thanks

Very nice extension and looking at the files, maybe a cosmetic tweak as well. Lot's more potential for scenarios as well.

I've found a small anomoly down the Chemnitz end, unsure how to get round this issue not being an expert on track and bridge laying. I can delete the offending item, but, half the bridge disappears with it, and I don't know how to rebuild it all back up again.

Haven't come across it myself, and nothing on either of the German forums so far. Maybe a reinstall? Then if still the same a post on the thread on railsim.de. I'm away to see if I can spot anything, but there is a lot of everything at the Chemitz end.

Edit: I have it also, I have made a post on the route authors thread as you're not around at the moment.

Thanks ever so much, Holz, I got into trouble when I posted some screenshots on their forum last year, as I didn't use the Steam function for posting them, or, something like that, so, I've not bothered since.....

Seems that not everybody has the problem with the bridge, so might not be a quick fix. I just attach a screenshot as normal when I post over there, although I generally have to reduce the size first to keep within limits. They don't like it if you link to an outside site for screenshots, but I've never had any issues myself so far. It's even possible to copy and paste a picture as long as it is within the forum size limits. I used my own screenshot as you weren't around.

No problem at all Holz, thanks for doing it, however, if you say that not everyone is experiencing this glitch, then, that's worrying, now. I'll do a re-installation this afternoon and see if that resolves the problem, other than that, I'm stumped as to what to do next.

EDIT: I re-installed again, no change whatsoever. I did notice several bak files present in the Content folder in the Scenery, Lofts and Roads folders and deleted them all, but, that hasn't done anything either.
I'm just going to run a train along that line and see if it derails, other than that, unsure what else to do as a quick fix.

2nd EDIT: Success, ran a train from each direction and they both drove straight through the obstruction without derailing, so, I'm going to ignore it and leave it alone.

The route author is one of the people who doesn't have the problem. However there was a similar problem with a bridge in an earlier version, which although he didn't have the issue he managed to fix. He is taking a look to see if the same can be done with this bridge.

Thanks Holz, I'll hang on then and see if it can be fixed.

Whilst you're about, he's done a fantastic Power Station down at Chemnitz with a coal unloading track built in, I was just wondering what wagons we have available that actually work in the loading/unloading function, do you know the best ones?
I already have some Payware wagons which have a Kohle texture, from virtualRailroads, an Ommi51, Omm52, Fad167 and some Falns from the old German Railroads pack, but, wasn't sure if these coal wagons are just scenery static, or, whether the wagons actually work and the coal can be unloaded at this facility, any ideas, please?

Haven't got most of the DR stuff, no interest, however it is a pity there are no quickdrive scenario's for version 2. :-?
