Activity Editor problem

Post by Geoffwright »

I've been using AE without problems for years but suddenly now it's gone wonky - it loads alright & comes up with the activity I select but then when I try moving the map or zooming the view in. it crashes.
This seems to happen on all activities on all routes. It even happens if I try to create a New Activity - the route map seems to open up fine but crashes out as soon as I try to move the map or even just zoom in at the point where the cursor/pointer is.
If any kind soul could come up with an answer, I'd be most grateful.

Hi Geoff,
Are you using Windows 10?
if so, you're the second user to report problems with AE recently! See here : http://tsforum.freeclanforum.com/t1088- ... help#14498

Sorry I don't have an answer :(

Cheers,

Hi,
I used to have this problem when trying to make activities for Dorset Coast.

How many 'options' have you got ticked when you open ae.(view tab)
Whenever I run ae , only the selected timetable path is selected in the view tab. I zoom into the area where I'm planning to start the activity and then tick the relevant box to show what you need i.e. stations, sidings, etc. Un-tick all boxes apart from the path and move/zoom to follow the path. Re- tick the necessary boxes to make the end point of the activity.

Tick one box at a time and you'll soon see how each option slows down ae. Having signals ticked is usually a killer.

Might be your problem.
Cheers
