Updating models to the newest version of 3ds Max

Post by chrisell »

So I finally plumped for the newest 3DS Max (which gives me access to the three most previous versions) and when I installed the dev plugins for it (Max 2015) I came to a grinding halt. Not only have all the old Kuju shaders been replaced with RW shaders, but the old Max files won't load properly. (Obviously because they relied on the older Kuju shaders)
Given the multitude of different shader types in my models, with all the attributes per shader, is there any way to convert from the old Kuju shaders to the new RW ones? Or am I going to spend the next 12 months hand-writing all the attributes down and meticulously recreating the shaders by hand? :o
* Worth pointing out : to this point I've been using 3ds Max v9 - not 2009, v9 - yes, THAT old.
