Windows 10 and MSTS

Hi all,

I recently upgraded from Windows 7 Home to Windows 10.

After one or two problems with drivers for my printer and scanner everything seemed to be alright.

Next thing to try was my railway simulators, MSTS, Train Simulator 2016 and the PC-Rail signaling Simulator. The only one that is working is MSTS.

When try to boot it up all I get is MSTS 1.4 has stopped working. I have all my simulators on C drive in a folder called 1Trainsims and this worked ok in Windows 7.

In Windows 10 I have reinstalled it in a folder on it's own as 1MSTS on C drive but this hasn't made any difference. Even using the Trainstore hasn't helped.

I was wondering if anyone else has had any problems with Windows 10?

Hi Steve,
It sounds as if your new PC has an AMD graphics card! If so, to get MSTS working you need to apply the fix detailed here : http://www.trainsim.com/vbts/showthread ... MSTS/page3

Thanks for your reply. I have a go at that but I'll a bit of help with it. Failing that I may change the graphics card.

MSTS works fine on Windows 10,I have just switched over,I just let it run,it backs up all your in use files,once it's finished installing Windows 10,it puts every thing back.

I was really worried about MSTS but it worked straight away,with out having to do anything,also PC Rail,and TS2016 and O.R worked ok with no problems.

Hi Mike,

Glad to hear yours is working OK. I think my problem is the graphics card. If I can't update the driver for it I'll get another graphics card.

Is yours a AMD graphics card?I was lucky as the computer I've got hasn't got a AMD card.

Hi Mike,

Yes mine is an AMD card. I think I will change it instead of faffing about downloading fixes.
