Latest Nvidia drivers.

Post by smarty2 »

Happy to report that the latest drivers are working without issue and I no longer have anymore TDR's and I can also run the game with 4x DSR! :) The 2D map works a treat too.

I only got them yesterday although they have been out since the 21/12/15. I have Geforce Experience ticked to tell me when new drivers are available but, for some unknown reason has stopped doing so. Over at RWA they are saying lots of people posting on the Nvidia forums about getting BSOD under Windows 10. No problems for me so far. Two games I'm playing at the moment work ok. TS2016 and Crysis3.

Unhappy to report that 361-43 has made no difference to me - I'm still having quintuple vision with the 2D map! Strange!!

That may be because I have AA off?

I believe this is a symptom of having in game SSAA enabled, because I've only seen it since upgrading my GPU and pushing up the settings. I haven't tried using a high DSR setting yet versus the high SSAA (I am on 2x3 I think) but feel a test may be in order.

Smarty2, what GPU/CPU are you running and what settings do you have in game to go with the 4xDSR setting in nVidia?

Yeah, unfortunately the SSAA code is still broken, even in the latest drivers (361.43)

I'm running a pair of GTX980 Ti's in SLI and any attempt to use SSAA in game causes the corrupt map screen.

It's getting boring now :(

Smarty
Just to be clear you have SSAA settings turned off in TS2016? :)
As we have previously discussed - If you have a NVidia card, and if you use ANY SSAA setting in TS 2016 the you will see the 2D Map distortion UNLESS you set in AA mode in NVCP/NVI "override any application setting", OR you use only MSAA settings in TS2016.
I am still getting 2D map corruption with SSAA settings in TS2016 with this latest driver 361.43.

Im using SSAA 3x3 and i only get the 2d map corruption while in the editor mode ,the 2d map is fine when actually running a scenario. Also noticed that the corruption occurs when you go to pan the 2d map but it corrects itself after a short while but re-occurs when you pan the map again. Its like a map updating problem.

Hi Pete, I have no AA set in TS that's correct. And I have it set to "override any application setting".

@Matt my cpu is an intel i5 oc to 4Ghz and my gpu is a GTX760 resolution of 3360x2100 all settings maxed out.

Don't you just love it when a self confessed "non-techie" gets all technical

Martin, is the resolution of 3360x2100 what you're actually displaying or your DSR setting?

Don't tell the others, but I do too!!!

Your DSR setting is what your GPU renders the image at, then squashes it down to whatever display resolution you actually see, exactly what the in-game SSAA does. Admittedly DSR uses a much more sensible and logical multiplication factor, being applied to both height and width rather than the asynchronous solution in game (with the exceptions of 2x2 and 3x3 of course).

Can you read any on screen messages/HUD display comfortably, or do you just pretend they're manuals?

I've found that on my system DSR looks superb---but I can't read things!!...I really should upgrade my eyes to the latest version.
