It's certainly an idea i'll try, thanks. I have kind of got it dug out, but it's not very neat and has actually dampened my enthusiasm for the route as every time I look at it, I see gaps under the track that need patching with the bank loft, which then needs hiding with foliage over top to disguise the wide path etc....

I have found ground caps the best way to go about doing canals, easy for the locks and you can use dirt tracks for tow paths...





These are the best shots of route I was doing to hand, I can post some more detailed shots showing the workings if needed
