Barclay Atlantic Narrow Gauge

Made a start and have got as far as a rolling and working chassis - driven it up the 1:40 from Sparrowlea to Waterhouses with 3 LMVLR coaches + 3 churn wagons + CMVLR Brake and it goes like the clappers. I think my numbers for steam production are a bit out.

Very pleased - not to say actually a little smug - to have got properly working and quartered Walschaerts valve gear, something I have wanted to do for an age as I really like the wobbling motion of this kind. The loco runs well and copes well with the curves. No working reverser so modelled at a high cut off for maximum scenic wobble value.

It will be a while till this is released - obviously lots of body work to do. But also the physics needs tweaks still and the sound for the chuffs needs to be "bigger & throaty" for a loco of this size.

Which reminds me, another new loco came along last year (not your beautiful Kitson) which looked promising, had some physics problems, and was withdrawn again pending being revised. Never saw any more about it, did you have any indirect input on that?)

So to correct and update: I meant your Kerrr Stuart Skylark of course. And the "other loco" I was referring to was a Kitson 2-6-4T "ER Calthrop" by TrentValleyIronWorks (was UKTS 33909 but withdrawn)

Body elements are all in place and the chassis is starting to come together now I have the pony truck right. The texture for the body is just a working one - nothing like the final one. The cab needs to be started and lots of body detail added but at least it gives a sense of the size.

Fantastic! A large NG loco would be really handy for managing steeper gradients / longer trains.

Autumn day on Hulme End Shed - no particular reason other than the texturing is starting to come along and windows added.

It is going to be one of those made up footplates as there are no details of what they actually had so I am "loosely" basing it on the bigger Sittingbourne loco Triumph.
