Personally I'm looking forward to a class 73, and am indeed hoping it will include mode-switching between diesel and electric traction!

You mean like the old MSTS version of the route,which came with virtually every thing to run it out of the box,stacks of locomotives,freight stock and MK1&2 coaches,route includes Almwych Branch,Ffestiniog branch,Llandudno to Llandudno Junction.
I reckon if DTG do it you probably get a class 45 or 47,either a bog standard DTG set of Mk1 or 2 coaches and some freight wagons,and maybe a class 101 DMU.

Let's not forget that the MSTS package came with models that could be thrown together in less than a day, given their incredibly low polycount and low resolution textures. Along with a route that had only a fraction of the asset count per scenery tile. Every time I go back to the MSTS version of a route I've used in TS, I'm struck by the pure inaccuracy of everything in those bundle packages, which were totally acceptable at the time given the resources available.

Now unless you want the same level of detail the NWC for MSTS had, then you'll have to stick with what's provided.

Guilty as charged and I couldn't careless,both TS 2016&MSTS have their good points and their bad points,it seems a shame their is still this them and us attitude.

Apologies for sounding negative it certainly wasnt meant in that way.

In times were I have to watch what I spend I have a choice. Buy one addon at a time when sales are on. Or use existing addons from previous sims in OR giving me just as much enjoyment. I appreciate that poly counts etc are higher now. Eye candy is great, however:

1) I have little wish to run modern day routes (Commute on the TV anyhow!)

2) I have found software which has a dispatcher screen and signals trains almost perfectly (Which is free).

3) I can jump into any (moving or not ) train during an activity.

4) I can write a 24hour timetable chock full of ideas and trains.

Market forces dictate that a DTG addon will sell and I wish them good luck.Im simply a professional railwayman in the day job and wish for a bit more than drive train from A to B in a predictable fashion with pre set events. Or drive a train in a ghost world where nothing else moves...

Again apologies for any thread drift I have contributed to. If what people want is what is being produced then so be it. I come in peace!

Hello J, you need Weardale and Teesdale then.

1 - A large network. Not A to B unless you go via C, D and E (and F)
2 - Comes with lots of rolling stock
3 - Set in the 1950s (So not modern)

Could you use the 175 on the Manchester Liverpool route? Back in the day of FNW 11 class 175 sets were out-based in England, from Newton Heath depot IIRC for routes within England, but I don't know which diagrams they worked.

All the 175 units were, and still are, based in England - Chester is their home depot.
When FNW operated them they worked from Manchester Airport to Blackpool, Barrow & Windermere.
The only section of the Manchester - Liverpool route they have been passed on is Piccadilly to Castlefield Jn (about a mile).
And the units operated in FNW livery - even after moving to ATW just without branding when the contract with FNW expired the units were repainted in to full ATW colours.

I suspect a new welsh route is in the pipeline - I wonder if it could be a Marches Line? - The picture is at Hereford

The 68 look and sound nice - good for Fife Circle Passenger workings - as per the picture
A Class 73 will be good for London to Brighton/Faversham/PDL/. I hope it comes with dual power

Hi

If you wait until the next steam sale I would recommend getting TS 2016,you get a really good steam route,Riviera 1950,you get a good route Exeter-Kingswear,plus Heathfield and Brixham Branches.

Stock consists of Grange,Hall,Castle,King,5700 Pannier Tank,Collett Sunshine Coaches,Riviera Coaches and Mk1 Coaches,varied selection of freight stock,it runs straight out of the box,it doesn't need any assets from other routes.

Getting knee deep into an OR project now however to fulfill ones needs. If though my points 2 to 4 could be addressed by DTG then I would certainly consider purchasing more addons.
