North Jersey Route ok?

Post by wad53 »

Since the Christmas sales are tempting me, I thought I might pick up a couple more Routes. Us Aussies like to branch out into the USA occasionally, so I have been looking at the North Jersey Route, but reading the Steam reviews, they are quite mixed. Lots of complaints about "bugs" and poor frame rates. I was hoping to get better feedback from here, is it worth it?
I've already picked up the Chicago route and quite like it.

Being from New Jersey I have to admit I can recommend it, given that you download Fan Railer's physics and sounds.

One guide might be to look at the workshop and see how many scenarios are available - the more popular the route the more scenarios.

I lived in Hoboken for a while in the 90's and certainly enjoyed this route for that part of it. I think it's pretty good overall to be fair.

Hey tycoonkid99, where is that pack? I'm only aware (at least on RWA) of a sound mod for the ALP-46. Is there another general pack for the route?

I think it is a great route - very different scnery than some. Masses of scenarios in the Workshop already. The combined Diesel/Electric Loco is an interesting unit.

Thanks for the feedback guys, most helpful. Also, thanks for the link to Fan Railer's mods.

Looks like I have found an extra "Christmas Gift" for my wife.

Well, I'd certainly recommend it, to those who haven't obtained it yet, very nicely built, lots of new bridges, a clean and fresh outlook on the route, but, not too overpowering, a nicer version of the NEC down to Rahway, from New York Penn Station, then lots of seaside down to Bay Head, I never knew so many folks in New Jersey had swimming pools in their back gardens.....

If you have New York New Haven as well, I have connected that route to the North Jersey Route to make a combined route (but have to wait for workshop to be fixed its upload limit ). So if you had the Jersey Coast route you would have from Rahway to New Haven on the NEC :) in one route (well when its uploaded of course)

Map (of both routes) - http://alienworlds.co.uk/blog/wp-conten ... Jersey.png

(can't merge in the original NEC however - and the quality of it compared to the newer one would also put me off! )
Something goes here??

Thanks Danny, I now have both Routes and look forward to getting your merge, when it becomes available. :)
