How do I block smoke?

Post by meonia »

I have a very wide bridge and when steam loco's go under it the smoke and steam belch up through the ground above it. How can I prevent this and is there an occlusion for just such a thing?
If necessary I can make a block with a collision box around it to place above the tracks but I don't know if that would work. Suggestions please.

Thanks for your help,

Mike.

I'm afraid you cannot; the core game does not support it. The new UE4 version hopefully will have particle occlusions.

There is a technique that works in MSTS. No idea how to do it or whether it would work in Railworks.

The method is to fit an invisible section of tunnel under the bridge or inside the station roof. That blocked the smoke from escaping (but the drawback was that, if Bin was installed along with "night" versions of the cabs, the cab would switch into night mode when entering the "tunnel").
