Well, it was announced in news that it would happen in September and I forgot to check. There's been no fanfare or announcements but a trial allowed me to download an area local to me at both resolutions just by clicking the download button, no need for free accounts etc etc (trialled on my tablet through Chrome).
With the grid spacing in TS land at 8m the 2m files should be accurate enough, I am working so no nothing of the file formats etc and if there's a need for conversion, but it's a resource many have cried out for. Coverage is rated at 72% of England, mainly in urban areas and around rivers as the driving force for the data was flooding. Have a search and hopefully your required area is there.

Thanks for the link Matt! Sadly, I can't get it to work, though that's probably just me, I will have a search on the website.

Hi
Just downloaded a sample via their website (very easy) and files are in .asc format- imagine they need converting somehow.
I am afraid I have no insight into how to do that?

Thanks, Matt.
Andy - I can't get it to work in Chrome but it's fine in Internet Explorer.

Re: Free 1m and 2m LIDAR for free download
Is there a 3D viewer to allow inspection of the data, and a way to convert it for use in TS?

What's the state of the dataset?
Is it a raw "point cloud" type dataset (i.e. includes coords for tree canopy / veg cover / built environment), or has it been adjusted for ground level?
