TS2016 Crash Crash Crash

Post by blade2014 »

Hi all there could be a update coming out to fix TS2016 after the bug in the game ie

1 snap to track crash out
2 laying track crash out
3 delete more then one item at a time crash out
4 splitting track or scenery loft crash out
5 going from editor to place train crash out
6 far to much lag moving around the editor with Google earth overlay

so far 220 crash outs all dump files sent to DTG i would save your work every 10 min so you dont lose your work, think one day it will get sorted where it wont crash out
Building The New Great Western Mainline ridiculous amount of work to

I've been playing with all sorts of stuff with tracks and scenery objects, deleting around 100 in a single go with the circular selection tool, and haven't experienced a crash out of the editor in TS2016 yet. The only time I do is if I background it, so its kind of my fault.

No point in sending dump files to DTG as they don't know what they mean. Just as a matter of interest how many Work Shop scenarios are you subscribed too.

Something that would seem to be confined to your installation, on your PC can't be classed as a bug in the game.

The editor being temperamental is a well known and long standing issue.. I've experienced crashes as a matter of course with it on 3 separate PC builds going back to 2012. Generally speaking the more assets you have loaded the more unstable it becomes.

Crashing on simple operations such as selecting multiple items isn't being 'temperamental'---it suggests a more serious underlying problem. Personally I've never had great troubles with the editor; the edits however is another matter...

Just like any other program ever written, throw more data at it and it'll slow or even crash. As all of this is known and often predictable behaviour so it can't be classed as a true 'bug', which is something that causes a program to behave in random, unforeseen and unexpected ways, so the first place to start looking for the reason and a cure is the PC itself.
What are your system specs blade?

What type of set up do you have, especially GFX wise and any 3rd party GFX software you have running?
