Signal Cables

Post by Dave4468 »

I'm already tinkering with Retro-Riviera and am looking for a signal cable loft. I've got some good point rodding assests from DP Simulation but am drawing a blank with the signal cables. What annoys me more is I have a perfectly good asset on my PC, its included with the SSS WSR Members route but I cannot for the life of me work out the supplier and get it to appear in the asset list for the Riviera.

In short either;

Link to a decent signalling cable set.
or
Supplier name for the WSR asset.

Thanks :)

Can you identify the .bin file for the cable?
If so, open that with RW Tools and look at the path to the .GeoPcDx file--that will show the provider/product folders pairing.

How would I go about doing that. I know for normal object that pops out but this is a loft and I cant get it to do it.

It should still have a .bin file; do you mean the .bin won't open in RW Tools?

creeeeeaaaaakkkkkk....thunk <----sound of an old addled brain finally getting in gear

If you know the path to the file to be able to open it in RW Tools, you don't need to open it in RW Tools to find the path!!...I do talk rubbish at times....(first one who adds "most of" to that gets a visit from the Wakey Mafia  )

I don't have WSR, but from what I've gleaned from the SSS web page the Members Edition uses it along with assets from the UKTS Freepacks etc---looking amongst those might provide a clue.
You could use RW Tools to check the route and generate a list of assets used, that should give a pointer.

I think this is the loft folder you are looking for:

RailWorks\Assets\SAD\Scenery\wires\

Not sure where it comes from but obviously you already have it as part of the WSR assets.

It's unlikely to be in the RSC version, and the SSS enhancement just adds to that---it'd be more likely that SAD's assets are included in one of the required UKTS freepacks. The version history with the SS enhancement does contain this line:
PLEASE NOTE: You need to install the East Somerset Railway from UKTS
as the assets have apparently been removed from the package. As Dave can 'see' the cables that means he has them somewhere so the obvious step is to find out just what the SSS upgrade uses--the installation window does note some requisites in addition to ESR so they'd be the places to start looking.
