Re: Main Screen
You need to purchase TS 2016 Steam Edition to get the new interface and screen etc.

Re: Main Screen
Have a look in your Railworks data folder and see if you have a folder called front end. It should be in that. Delete it or change its name.

Warwick - please DO NOT follow this advice.Trev123 wrote:Have a look in your Railworks data folder and see if you have a folder called front end. It should be in that. Delete it or change its name.
Trev - this advice is not only incorrect, it's dangerous, as it's likely to cause members to be unable to run the sim alt all! Deleting the Frontend folder or changing its name will simply cause the sim to crash before it even loads, as those files are essential. If you're not sure of the answer, it's best not to guess.
What needs to be done is for the files in question to be replaced by the original files in the textures/frontend folder that were over-written by the new screens. I've not been able to find these new files (I think that Gary may have since withdrawn them) but hopefully, Warwick has kept the original download, advising how to install this mod. It just needs to be reversed, so that the original files replace the modded ones.
Failing that Warwick, you'll need to verify the integrity of the game cache to get your original files back.

Re: Main Screen
If you read my post correctly it is quite obvious that I was talking about the file inside the folder not to delete the folder.ashgray wrote:Warwick - please DO NOT follow this advice.Trev123 wrote:Have a look in your Railworks data folder and see if you have a folder called front end. Re: Main Screen
No Trev, it wasn't; or not on a first (or second, maybe not even a third) read anyway...
Your instruction could very easily have been read to delete, or rename the folder, rather than open said folder and delete, or rename the (so far) unknown file.
Deleting files is *wrong*---OK the recycle bin does give a little 'way back' if it's the wrong thing to do but why promote being *wrong*?.... rather than 'delete', files should be re-named or at least copied somewhere safe---the first rule of *messing about with stuff* is "make sure you can revert your screw up to something that works"; junking files does not allow that.
*
You named a folder, not a file...in fact nobody has named what file is under discussion here*. Don't forget that this is a written medium, and whilst conversationally what we post may make perfect sense when read literally we all often write gobbledegook ( that's a polite way of saying ****)Trev123 wrote:Have a look in your Railworks data folder and see if you have a folder called front end. is still not naming the file: files have extensions, background.jpg in this case but what if there were also (as examples) background.png, background.tga files in there also?train wrote: i found the file it was called background
