I'm a bit unsure about this new Railjet (JT/RW Austria). From the current screenshots and videos, the Taurus locos don't look quite right. Plus the OBB Railjet textures seem to me to be the wrong colour and too mono-shaded ( I appreciate that this may be of course Wip textures). There are both 2 panto and 3 panto ( for Swiss routes) versions of the Taurus ES64U2 locos, but I haven't seen a 4 panto ES64U4 version amongst the included Taurus loco repaints. Like many , I don't really need any more versions of the Taurus, having the excellent and comprehensive HRQ versions already.

The Sim Train.CH version of the Railjet, looks a lot better. However it only seems to include the Swiss Route livery and 3 panto version and is expensive. It is also getting long in the tooth by now.

We have a lot more routes to run a Railjet on these days : SBB 1, 3 Country Corner, Munich-Augsberg, Manneheim-Karlsrue, Munich-Rosenheim, Semmeringbahn, have I missed any ?

However, think I'll bide my time and wait for the reviews .

In the meantime I can use my "ersatz" Railjet train i.e. 6 repainted Modularwagen Bmpz s with an HRQ Railjet Taurus at the front and at the back. It looks pretty good and performs well !

I have to say that you are in the minority, on the German forums they are pretty much unaminous that this version is better than the Sim Train one. Certainly functionality will be streets ahead of the SimTrain one, which IIRC is an MSTS conversion. It will also be more advanced than the Hass one as well. The intention was not to create all variations of the Tauri, only the variations used with the Railjet. This means that there is still a place for the Hass version, which is still pretty good. Whetter you purchase or not is your personal choice, personally I wouldn't touch the SimTrain one with a ten foot barge pole, looks awful and has limited functionality and too expensive in my view, but we are all different. Without doubt there will be numerous scenarios appearing once this is released. As always beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You're not far off the mark with your ersatz railjet, add in a restaurant and first class and you have pretty much what was running through Augsburg in the last few years.

Official post from RWA on release

"Dear TS community, In the last few days there have been several announcements Regarding the release of the RWA railjet. We would like to take this opportunity to clear up a few things. We chose Just Trains as the publisher for the RWA railjet. Due to unforeseen circumstances on Just Trains side, the release date was delayed indefinitely. Since we were not sure if and when this product would be released we Looked for alternative. RSSLO Became our new partner and after some discussions we Agreed thatthey Could publish the railjet in parallel to Just Trains. Unfortunately, after some correspondence with all parties we were advised did our contract with Just Trains would be exclusive. This Caused some hectic discussions with all parties involved-and thus legal advisers. After some lengthy talks we Agreed to the Following: The RWA railjet will be released shortly, by Just Trains but not RSSLO. We have come to an agreement with RSSLO whichwill mitigate any damages Caused. We hope for your understanding did not discuss any we can of the terms in public. So We will not discuss or comment on this whole matter any Furtherwith in any public forum. Finally, we would like to officially apologize to RSSLO, our customers and Just Trains. At no point was it our intention to cause any inconveniences or be in breach of any contracts. We hope that there will be no further delays to the release of the RWA railjet and That we can look forward to a friendly and cooperation with Just Trains and RSSLO . Kind regards The RWA team"

Glad to hear it is coming eventually and that it will be via Just Trains.
(Selfishly I have a fair amount of credit points there to apply to the purchase which I could not have used at RSSLO.)
I already have three Taurus models so this will make a fourth but it is one of my favorite types.

Hello everyone

The release of the JustTrains RWA railjet Advanced is not all that far away now.

We have worked very hard for over a year to create this train. Our aim was to make one of the most realistic trains (if not the most realistic one) to date.

This product is best described as a study level simulator. Without carefully studying the manuals or looking at the tutorials it will be very difficult to get it to move. Having said that, we appreciate that not everyone wants to immerse themselves in such an amount of detail (players will have to unlock the power lever, split the electrodynamic brake,....etc). Because of this we have also included an "easy mode".

This product was created with friendly permission of the Austrian Federal Railways and we were given full access to trains and maintenance facilities where we could record and time every moving part we could find.

We have created some tutorial videos. These should give you an idea what it is all about.

There is also a short video showing off some of the features:

The manuals will also be released before the actual product.

I hope you like what you see. It has been an awful lot of hard work and we really had too push TS to its limits to achieve all the features we wanted to integrate.

Kind regards

WOW, I see a button for MIREL! Is there a real support for MIREL? Some Czech guys developed a working MIREL safety device for some of the CZ locos... and routes that support it.

Additionally, are you planning to release a non-railjet Taurus too? Would definitely be interested.

Glad I will be paying in £'s and not Euros, but I think there will be a lot of bang for your pounds with this.

If that's going to be the price I will pass, that's far too expensive for me to even think about buying it. Hopefully that's an error and it will be available at a more usual price for such an item.

Probably expensive because of all the variants and detailed operation in it. Will probably still get it.
