Dutch Classics: Pack 8 - MAT '54 & '57: Part II

Post by JohnM1945 »

Dutch Classics have finally put their new pack on sale on their new website (now with an English option).

The pack is priced at €14.95 (roughly £11.50) and contains lots of 'Dognose' variants.

I quote...

EMU series included:

Mat 1954 EMU´s, ELD2 (two parts) green and ELD4 (four part EMU's) green of the more recent series (serveral versions, including a version with the classic and the one legged pantograph)
Mat 1954, ELD2 yellow ELD2 (two parts) and ELD4 yellow later series(serval versions, including a version with the classic and the one legged pantograph)
Mat 1954, ELD4 (four part EMU) blue/yellow intercity livery in several versions
Mat 1957, ELD2 (two part EMU) dark blue Benelux trains (several versions, the classic and modernized version))

The website is at http://www.dutch-classics.com/index_en.html#.

Kind regards,

John M

Phill, According to the manual there 6 standard scenarios included on the Ruhr-Sieg Line as well as QD and some Tutorial scenarios. I haven't looked for them yet myself.

Also some scenarios for Seebergen route. You have to install the scenarios separately though.

Check the Dutch sites, there are various Dutch routes with scenarios that use their stock.

Sorry, don't have links at hand, posting from my phone.

Probably not, because there is no default Dutch route available.

Over at the Dutch sites there are freeware routes and scenarios.
Most of them require lots of asset downloads and all kinds of exotic rolling stock. Trying to find all this can be a PITA.

I recommend to start with "Gooi Central" http://www.christrains.com/routes.html where there is also a list of required extras.

Most scenarios for Dutch routes will also require vehicles from Christrains. Here is his scenario page at the bottom there are scenarios for some dutch routes that also include Dutch Classics models http://www.christrains.com/ts_scenarios.html if you have some of his stuff already then it may be useful.
Here is Christrains links to the Dutch routes available, as always payware is aso required, but Midden Nederland in particular continues to develop, there is a thread somewhere on here about it to help. http://www.christrains.com/routes.html there are also links to three Dutch forums at the bottom of the page, further scenarios are available on these sites, but usually for one of the Dutch routes, and you will almost certainly need at least some of Christrains models, although these are reasonably priced.

Yeah they're something, aren't they? :-) Interactive passenger views! :-)

Actually, they're Mat '54, not Mat's! :-) (Or dognoses)

'Mat' is an abbreviation for 'Materieel', or 'Stock' / 'Class'. They're stock '54, as in, first appeared in 1954. There is also Mat '46, Mat '36, Mat '64... I think after that we stopped naming our stock classes after the year in which they appeared....
The particular convention was only ever applied to EMUs, as far as I know.

Mat '64 is available from ChrisTrains, Mat '24 is available (as freeware) from

http://www.hcc-trainsimig.nl/site/index ... Itemid=107

Other of these classic EMUs are not (yet) available.

Cheers,
