Re: invisible assets
Which route is this?
Some assets are deliberately made 'non selectable' so that they don't accidentally get moved when building a route but this is easily reversed if you want to use them in other routes.

I just tried placing the mentioned assets with the offset tool and didn't encounter any problems: they displayed without any co-ercing! I did conduct the test on the JT route though. Any problem with box ticking?

Re: invisible assets
I've just tried them in a quickly knocked up blank route, no problems at all with all 3 assets so you either have a problem with your copy of the route/assets or you're doing it wrong.
Are you trying to use the assets already placed in the route or attempting to use those assets in another route?
If you tell us exactly what you're doing, and how you're doing it, we may be able to help but so far you've been rather vague.
EDIT: I'm assuming a lot here, but have you used the offset tool and then selected the canopy and are then expecting it to show?
That's not enough, you need to click the arrow(s) on the offsets displayed on the screen to transfer the canopy there.
