It's still free for people who owned the game beyond a certain time ago, if you purchased the sim after that then it wasn't included in your newer version for free and was never free for you, but you got things for free that older users didn't get when they got the auto upgrade. Swings and roundabouts, but either you want to use the items on this freeware route or you don't.seltzernoob wrote:Of course the payware does...

Well if you don't want pay for any thing stick to MSTS where you can down load to your hearts content,or pay £5.00 and get a DVD with route, stock and activities
Or stay with TS 2015 or 6 when it comes out next month, but remember if you want the routes that come with it,you will have to pay the full price, the choice is yours.

Wasn't the building model pack done by Creative Rail - or am I thinking of something else?

The UK buildings pack is included in the Woodhead Pass route which you have to pay for. It doesn't cost much and it is a great route.

Re: Settle - Carlisle
Creative rail did & still do a free route builders pack (GWR Signalbox, Yard Floodlight, Platelayer hut, Corrigated hut, Water closet, Diesel storage tank, Oil tank, Portable cabin, Trolley tractor, Brute trolley, Post office trolley.) Don't think that the pack being discussed though.davep wrote:Wasn't the building model pack done by Creative Rail - or am I thinking of something else?

Re: Settle - Carlisle
Yeah, the creative rails thing was completely different.
The building pack was originally created for UKTS route building challenges I believe, and featured a number of items Derek created for his now released wearhead route, in a different directory. The pack was later released with a number of routes, including the Western Lines of Scotland route (unless they swapped the bits out) Settle and Carlisle and Woodhead. The only thing is, Im not absolutely sure they released ALL the components of it with those packs. Ive been told even with those whom own Settle and Carlisle, that my 1975 version still has missing components. Whcih suggests you really want the full download of the building pack if that is true and not some poor soul who hasnt pressed the clear blueprints button.
Derek used to house it on his site, but its not there now, Im not sure why. My advice, search on here for building pack, then if you find the link to Dereks site (which I believe I posted originally) run the link through a wayback machine like you find online in a few places, and you may get lucky and are able to download it. Ive not tried it, but the logic is sound if nothing else.
Wish you luck btw.

Re: Settle - Carlisle
Hi Stuart
I have your back dated 1975 Settle&Carlisle, route, and it works fine,I have WLOS,WCMLN,Woodhead,WCML over Shap, and the Steam Settle Carlisle route,so I presume at least one of them must have the building pack included.

I guess pretty much all of it must be installed with WLOS, because thinking of it, originally the brance from Dumfries on that route was built using the building pack as a freeware route. So assuming they didnt leave any major bits out, or swap bits out, it should all be with WLOS if nothing else. I would think highly likely Shap too, because that be started as a clone of Carlisle from WLOS I believe.
I must ask Derek sometime, ive never really though to ask him before.
