And there is a "report" button on the comments system same as the forum. All the reports get looked at and judged on their merit.

Well thats my bad because I didnt notice it, but it really did make me annoyed that someone who has taken the time and trouble to work on this is left a comment like that... It really does highlight the issue that the OP has raised.

So apologies I failed to hit the report button instead

That's the kind of comment that's going to give Matthew company.

I have followed this thread and I've have got to throw my tuppence in:
I personally think this a cracking route, I can see that it has been a genuine labour of love. Have you looked at the lineside detail? I can understand how this route has been umpteen years in the making! I find it totally immersive - try taking a steamer up some of the branches.
Have you guys ever been to a railway modelling exhibition? Its the same old tune there - there's them that built it, or love what the builder has created. Then there's them that just want to stand and pick holes in it because the rivets or whatever are too many, or too few, or in the wrong places. Me? I really don't care if there are signals that should or shouldn't be wherever - I just want to thank the artists for their efforts and for providing me with hours already spent and hours more to come enjoying this route. I can see that the OP was not a happy chap when he first posted. Understandable really, his baby just got dissed. I would say to all those 'constructive' critics out there - can you build something this good? Its a Train Simulator guys - its supposed to be fun!

Jealousy perhaps?...many of the comments in relation to any route/asset which go along the lines of "couldn't they do it better" are posted by those who haven't had a go themselves.

Hi[*]
I would just like to make a couple of points,I really like Derek Wearedale route,so far I have been all over parts of the route, there might be parts not quite right, but then it is covering quite a big time scale.
Please remember this is a siimulation not a exact copy of the route,if you want that either do it yourself,or don't buy it.
That also goes for the remark about a reskin is pointless, well it's not pointless,if you don't like it then don't down load it,no one is forcing you to,there are others who like it and will don load it

I can understand very well WHY that makes you feel that way but more often than not, this really is not the case Matt! (Believe me, I've been there myself, multiple times, albeit in different contexts).

I don't think any member has the right to say that someone else's work is pointless, or question the author's personal motives for making it. The author should not need to justify his making and distribution of freeware and, if someone doesn't like it or it serves no purpose for that person, then simply move on to something you do find useful.

My own view is that these fictional liveries and others will look just great on a fictional route such as Mardonshire, so I'll be swapping out existing scenario stock for these reskins!

I think the comment made about a 'pointless' reskin encapsulates quite succinctly, the point that I think Matt was making in the OP - that such as this can and does make those who create content and then freely share for others, think twice about doing so in the future.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say, and I take my hat off to tnc1997 for having a go at them and then for sharing his efforts. If I am honest I did think all the usual 'ned' thoughts about GWR not having 156's etc, but that is frankly not my business to comment upon (oops, just did), it is entirely the choice of the author what they do and good luck to them. Small acorns and all that.

I suppose I should really try and find and perhaps release the Class 50 reskin that daughter did whilst I was showing her how to use Photoshop. I feel it would really be appreciated by all, bright pink with Tinkerbell and various other fairies on it. It really looks the part :) ,

Hi Richard,
I dare you to release Tinkerbell, just a pity it's not near April the 1st,and if the Nene Valley Railway can have Thomas,I can't see why one of the fictitious routes can't have a class 50 called Tinkerbell.
I think the heats beginning to affect me :D

Off topic posts were removed earlier today as per the code of conduct. Subsequently a bunch of other posts that were nothing to do with the original content of the thread were also removed.

I can confirm the existence of an Area 51 for exiled posts. They make light reading for the moderators when we have nothing better to do in our real lives.

Any more off topic posts relating to post removals will be removed and the entire thread locked permanently.
Kindest regards
