On Steam there is the West Somerset Railway and also on JT they have their own edition as well.
I looked at some pictures/videos of the Steam version and I noticed that some important details were missing such as the ABCL/AOCL crossings (white light, st Andrews cross and the level crossing speed boards). The shunting signals are of the SR type not the GWR type. Not only this but the roads at the crossings are very very wide especially at the open crossing North-ish of Dunster.
The JT 2015 version is slightly better in detail but in someways could be better.
I did do some research into a very realistic version and there is one but it has so many requirements. This is the one from the top of my head at Steam Sounds Supreme.
So is there a very realistic one with very little requirements available?

In a word, no. As an Associate Member of the WSR, I'm there a lot and know the line very well. IMHO, the SSS version is far and away the most accurate, albeit that you need a lot of assets in advance of installing it, and has the advantage of having some input from a current Guard/TTI who regularly works on the real route. Perhaps a Version 3 is not far away....
The DTG version is (again IMHO) a relatively poor representation, whilst the JT version is OK.

I actually have on me Train Driver WSR which is just fantastic with loads of detail in.
I just wish that the TS versions could be like that.

Hi,
In my opinion I would go for the SSS West Somerset Railway members edition( it's also free),mind you I did get it before the JT one came out,I know to run the scenerio's you need additional items, but then again you also need additional items of stock to run the JT scenario's

One further point (and OK - you could swap them with RW Tools) is that the scenarios in the JT version do not feature stock that is actually on the real line, but default items such as the Black 5, Class 37, etc.michaelhendle wrote:Hi,

Re: West Somerset Railway for TS15
It is unavoidable requiring the DTG version off Steam. However, one HUGE benefit our our version is the excellent model of WSR Mongrel 9351 made by Down Main Games, with SSS custom sounds and CJB particles.cilldroichid wrote:Is the DTG version required for the SSS version?
That may swing it!

The SSS version is by far the best of the three.
