Heads Up - BR Blue Mk1 Repaint Pack

Post by thetrainfan »

Hi all,

Just a heads-up that a comprehensive BR Blue Mk1 repaint pack has been released by the one and only Richard Fletcher, available on the DPSimulation website.

I have just uploaded an extremely comprehensive new BR Blue Grey Mk1 coaching pack to the DPSimulation website courtesy of Richard Fletcher.

Utilising the Mk1 coaches included with the Clan 6MT addon, the pack includes nine different variants of passenger coach, including all four sleeper types. Also included are six repaints of the BG full brake, depicting blue and blue grey liveries with branding for Express Parcels and Newspapers, also unbranded versions too (to partially mimic a GUV).

Improvements and modifications include a fully reskinned passenger view and the aliasing of AP sounds, although these are not essential. For the day coaches, empty versions are provided for sidings and ECS workings (except the BSK which has no passengers by default). An amended .bin file is also provided for a full brake that if included in a non-passenger consist (parcels train for example), it will enable the user to activate station stops. Internal lighting is also added where appropriate to some BG's.

This mammoth coach pack can be downloaded from the 'Coaching Stock' section of Richard's page by following this link.

Good news and uses the AP Mk 1 sounds which saves a lot of time editing. Excellent.

Can Richard check the bat file please, as I've just installed the pack run the bat file and.....NOTHING. I've looked in every Blue Grey folder installed under Passenger 2 and 3 and there's no Geopcdx file in any coach whatsoever.

You have extracted the 7za.exe file too Steve?
You might find it quicker and easier to manually copy the .Geo's from your 6MT folder rather than mess about re-installing.

Hmm, I think you're right Gary, when I scrolled down to the bottom of my RSC folder there were 2 files there, I clicked on the bat file, I didn't really look closely at the other one. Oh well, not too worry, it's Sunday and I'm just waiting for the roast to finish cooking......

RW tools makes editing take a few seconds really, but I'm all for a quality experience, great looking installed but not used yet.

Blimey, I didn't know we had Mk1 sleepers available in a pack until now. Good work Richard.

Make sure the original folders are read & write.
If they are read only the bat file may not work.

Yes, looks like it's opened up a whole new opportunity for scenario writers
Thank you Richard Fletcher (full name so as not to be confused with any other famous Richards')

£5.35 for a fantastic set of re-skinned coaches.. not the hardest decision I've had to make today other than eggs fried, scrambled or boiled!

Thanks rcetank for highlighting this point.

The very same point is, as it happens, mentioned within the included readme file.

Thank you Sean for flagging these up and also to everyone for the kind comments :) ,
